Ryan Gosling Posts Cereal Tribute To Fan Who Created Vine Meme – WATCH VIDEO
Ryan Gosling joined Vine on Monday and posted a video tribute to the “Ryan Gosling Won’t Eat His Cereal” meme created by Ryan McHenry, who died this weekend after a long battle with bone cancer. “My heart goes out to all of Ryan McHenry’s family and friends,” Gosling tweeted. “Feel very lucky to have been apart of his life in some small way.” See Gosling’s tribute video below.
McHenry created several humorous videos on Vine in which he held up a spoon of cereal in front of a TV playing different Gosling movies, making it appear like he was trying to feed the actor but that Gosling was refusing. The clips went viral and were shared millions of times. McHenry told The Verge that he hoped to get Gosling’s attention with his videos. “As a filmmaker, I like to have a conclusion to things,” he said. “The only conclusion I can see out of this whole thing is to have Ryan Gosling respond to this. Even if it’s just him eating cereal.”
After news broke over the weekend that McHenry had lost his battle with bone cancer, Gosling started a Vine account and uploaded a 6 second video of himself eating a bowl of cereal and saluting McHenry.
