Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes NOT At “Breaking Point,” Despite Report
Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are NOT at a “breaking point,” despite a report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story.
“He praised his ‘lady’ during his Golden Globe acceptance speech in January, but behind closed doors Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes’ relationship is reportedly fractured beyond repair,” begins an article on Australia’s Yahoo lifestyle site. After flying through awards season solo and taking his sister to the Oscars, it’s alleged, “The Notebook actor is ‘mad’ at Eva for the lack of support.”
The site claims, “Eva’s decision to instead [promote] her new clothing line on the other side of the United States strained the couple’s relationship.” Picking up these allegations from OK!, a purported “insider” is quoted as saying, “He’s mad she didn’t want to support him for his big Oscars night, but somehow it’s a priority for her to support a retail store? He was yelling, ‘What the f*ck kind of priorities are those?’ If it wasn’t for the kids, I don’t think they would have any kind of relationship right now.”
The story goes on to contend Mendes is just as upset in the marriage. “Some in their circle are convinced she’s already spoken to a lawyer,” claims the supposed source quoted by both publications. If that line sounds familiar, it’s because it didn’t originate with OK! or Yahoo.
It actually comes from a Star cover story that Gossip Cop busted earlier this month. The untrue tale falsely announced Gosling and Mendes had split. The gossip magazine’s sister tabloid, OK!, then spun its own version, regurgitating some of the already-corrected misinformation.
And now, weeks after the original story came out, Yahoo has belatedly picked up the wrong claims. But no matter how many times the assertions are repeated, they remain inaccurate. Gosling and Mendes are not at a “breaking point.” On the contrary, they are quite happy together, and purposefully do not attend flashy events together.
These reports saying otherwise are just a false narrative making its way through the rumor mill. This pathetic gossip grapevine needs to end.
