Russell Crowe, Naomi Watts Romance Claim NOT True
Russell Crowe and Naomi Watts are NOT romantically involved, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s not true.
According to OK!, the actress is leaning on Crowe following her recent split from Liev Schrieber, and a possible “romance” is brewing between the pair. A so-called “source” tells the outlet, “There’s always been a bit of a spark between them. They’ve been Skyping and spending time together whenever Russell’s in New York, and things are blossoming.”
The publication goes on to purport that Crowe, who allegedly was the first person to contact Watts in the aftermath of her divorce, even suggested they take a “fun trip” to Europe together. “[Crowe] is a great listener and surprisingly funny,” further contends the magazine’s questionable insider, adding, “He’s making Naomi feel a lot better about herself.” “She’s ready to start moving on,” concludes the tipster.
But Gossip Cop investigated, and sources close to both Crowe and Watts exclusively assure us there is “no truth” to the story. Despite the outlet’s unfounded article, the pair are not dating, nor is there a romance brewing between them. They’re simply great friends, and have been for years. Once again, the unreliable publication has seemingly created yet another fake news report.
Unsurprisingly, this is not the first time Gossip Cop has busted an inaccurate dating story concerning the actress. In March, we called out OK!’s sister tabloid, the National Enquirer, for falsely alleging Watts and Liam Neeson were dating. And shortly before that tall tale, we corrected the supermarket tabloid for wrongly claiming Watts was caught with Justin Theroux. Much like those incorrect stories, this latest claim is equally bogus.
