“Russell Crowe Dating Billy Joel’s Ex-Wife Katie Lee?” asks HollywoodLife, which rarely has any answers.

Picking up a story from the New York Post, the webloid writes that “Russell Crowe isn’t wasting any time” since his recent split from Danielle Spencer, allegedly having been “seen moving on with Billy Joel’s stunning ex-wife Katie Lee Joel.”

HollywoodLife reports that Crowe and Lee “were cuddling in front of a fireplace at the Greenwich Hotel on Dec. 9, and again later that day.”

“They looked really into each other,” the blog quotes a source as saying.

Instead of just running with the rumor like HollywoodLife and other outlets, Gossip Cop checked with a source who tells us there is nothing romantic going on between Crowe and Lee.

Furthermore, the actor himself blasted the rumor on Twitter, writing, “These latest reports are false & cruel.”

“As soon as I finish this job & can get home, my priority is to try to bring my family back together,” he added.

It would be nice if overheated tabloid speculation didn’t make that more difficult to do.
