Russell Brand “Betrayed” Katy Perry?

Ever since marrying in October 2010, Russell Brand and Katy Perry have been the subject of nasty rumors predicting their split.
Last April, In Touch took a crack at the couple, claiming they’d been “torn apart by jealousy and distance.”
The tabloid was wrong, and Brand and Perry are still happily together.
But In Touch wasn’t satisfied, so this week the mag launched a whole new rumor, speculating that Brand had “betrayed” Perry by “getting cozy” with British comedian Sadie Turner.
“He and Sadie are together on a regular basis and even hang out at each other’s houses,” a so-called “friend” tells the tabloid.
In Touch wonders whether Brand “has reverted to his womanizing ways” given his and Perry’s busy schedules.
“At this point, it appears a split is inevitable for the newlyweds,” declares the magazine, which quotes an “insider” as saying that Turner “loves” Brand and “thinks Russell’s relationship with Katy is doomed!”
Really?
This is the best fiction In Touch could write?
A source close to Brand tells Gossip Cop the story is “laughable.”
“Sadie is one of his friends through his program at AA,” we’re told.
The source says In Touch is lamely trying to take a “serious matter” – Brand’s recovery – and make it look like some kind of romantic scandal.
It wouldn’t be the first time the magazine has opted for sensationalism over actual reporting.
