“Russell Brand buys Katy Perry a TIGER as a wedding gift,” reads a headline from OK!

According to the British tab’s latest tail, er, tale, “Brand decided to buy his wife something extraordinary for their wedding day,” and so he reportedly “splashed out thousands… on a female Bengal tiger named Machli.”

OK! is quick to point out that Brand is “going to pay the big cat’s welfare on his bride’s behalf,” but “plans to leave the tiger in the Ranthambore National Park where they tied the knot.”

Oh, so he’s not going to bring the man-eating predator back home?

Gossip Cop made a few costly calls to India. An employee of Ranthambore National Park didn’t hear about Brand buying a tiger, and a source close to the comedian told us the story was “ludicrous.”

Once again, the reporting at OK! is not grrrrreat!

    I just read on the Daily Mail that they will pay for the care of this tiger to stay there. The elephant she bought him will stay at their place, where I guess it will be cared for as well.

    Perhaps they will join in to help get Tony the tiger finally removed from lviing life at a damned stinky truckstop in Louisiana, where he’s been all of his life – over 10 years. Please, anyone reading this should also join in to help save Tony. The blog site is noted below, with links to more details and petitions that need signatures. Please take time to read, sign and then pass it along, and maybe this time around Wildlife and Fisheries will not renew the permit in December EVEN THOUGH the officials themself state Tony is living with ‘the bare minimum’ as required by law. The owner claims Tony is ‘family’ however a former ‘family member’ is now STUFFED and is in the cafe – Over The Saladbar!
