Police have arrested Russell Brand after the comedian and actor allegedly attacked paparazzi at LAX airport in Los Angeles on Friday.

Cops interviewed at least one photographer who alleged to have been pushed by Brand as the star and Katy Perry made their way through security at Delta.

Brand turned on the paparazzi after one of the shutterbugs tried to shoot up his fiancee’s skirt, a police official confirms to Gossip Cop the actor had told authorities.

Perry later tweeted, “If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me.”

The Get Him to the Greek star was booked, initially held on $20,000 bail, and later released on his own recognizance.

That paparazzi got in his way and Russell probably pushed him out of the way. Not everybody has patience with those vultures. I will be glad when the law do something about them. They have no right to get in celebs’ way. They arrested him because he pushed the paparazzo. What about them throwing things at celebs and say all kinds of rude things to them? They provoke celebs.

The paparazzi are disgusting bottom feeders. I have absolutely NO sympathy for them if a star reacts to them in a physical manner. Anytime they cry “assault,” I automatically think they totally deserve it. Paparazzi are sickening.

What a dumb-ass. How could he have possibly thought things would turn out good if he hit a paparazzi? Stoopping to their level will not let you rise above. If he had grabbed the camera to get rid of the up-the-skirt shots that would have been one thing but physically assaulting someone- in a public place- surrounded by camera- what was he thinking?!! That jsut leads to more bad stuff for him.

I totally agree that the paparazzi are disguisting and do not condone their methods. Maybe they do deserve being physically manhadled or run over for rushing at a vehicle, but the consequences of that have too high a price.

There really needs to be laws put in place and enforced that make crowding people and blocking their path just to get photos and video seriously punishable.
