Rumors Wrong That Kanye West Went East

After a month of very public turmoil, we can see why Kanye West would want to get away from it all. But gossip sites should “retreat” from rumors the embattled performer fled southern California for a spiritual journey in south Asia.

When nine-time nominee Kanye was conspicuously absent from the BET Hip-Hop Awards on Saturday, speculation soared that he was in the very next place you’d look … “seeking refuge in India.”

India? Really?

Yup. After the “Kanye in rehab” rumors proved wrong, outlets like MSNBC quoted a supposed “source” close to the performer theorizing, “He goes to India, he has a chance to come back seeming like he learned something from what happened.” ”He knows he needs to come back from this break changed,” the “source” says, “and that isn’t going to happen at some rehab overlooking the ocean.”

Hmm. Might it happen overlooking the prepared food section? Because Kanye WAS sighted on a personal journey – to a Whole Foods in Los Angeles.
