Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace Named New The View Co-Hosts! (VIDEOS)
Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace are the newest co-hosts on “The View,” Gossip Cop confirms.
In a press release furnished to us on Wednesday night, ABC says the new panel will debut on September 15.
As we previously reported, Rosie O’Donnell has rejoined the morning chatfest for the new season, and speculation heated up over the summer over who would replace the recently-departed Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy.
Whoopi Goldberg returns as the show’s moderator.
Perez is perhaps best known for her film career, but is also an accomplished community activist.
“I am beyond thrilled, honored and completely surprised that I’ve been asked to join ‘The View’,” says the actress.
She continues, “Knowing that I’ll be in the company of Whoopi, Rosie and Nicolle, three very smart and engaging women that I have an immense amount of respect for, makes it even more unbelievable.
“The opportunity to connect with our nation’s audience on a daily basis… icing on the cake! Very happy,” she adds.
Wallace is a conservative political commentator who worked in the Bush administration.
She says in a statement, “I am honored to join the tradition of compelling conversations that has been the signature of ‘The View’ for the better part of two decades.”
“I have watched ‘The View’ for many years and now to be seated alongside three women that I have admired is both humbling and incredibly exciting,” adds Wallace.
Perez and Wallace both guest-hosted on the show during the past season — see videos below.
