Rosie Perez Cries On The View While Announcing She’s Leaving (VIDEO)
Rosie Perez broke down in tears on “The View” on Wednesday while telling the studio audience that she will not be returning as a co-host next season. Watch below.
“You guys all heard it. I’ve decided to move on,” Perez announced. “I will say that today is very bittersweet for me.” Fellow co-hosts Nicolle Wallace, Whoopi Goldberg, and Raven-Symoné and guest co-host Michelle Collins all appeared teary-eyed, too, as Perez spoke about her exit.
After emotionally thanking her colleagues and the ABC show’s crew, Perez went on to say, “The ones I want to thank the most are the fans. It warms my heart, it really does, every time one of you guys come up to me and say, ‘I love you on ‘The View.” It just makes my day.” Perez, who was series’ first permanent Latina co-host, added, “I really, really want to give a special ‘Thank You’ to the Latin community. It’s a real honor to be the first Latina on ‘The View.’ What the hell took y’all so long?!”
Gossip Cop confirmed Perez’s impending departure on Tuesday. As previously reported, the actress, who joined the show last fall, will tape her final episode on August, the season 18 finale. Check out the video of Perez’s full speech below, and tell us what you think.
