Rosie O’Donnell: I “Love” Honey Boo Boo’s Family, Want to “Buy Them a House”

Rosie O’Donnell is a big fan of Honey Boo Boo (Alana Thompson).

But it isn’t just 7-year-old beauty pageant vet and star of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” she likes.

The talk show host says she’s taken with the entire family.

“I love ’em all,” says O’Donnell. ”I love Mama June. I love Sugar Bear. I love Chubbs,” referring to various family members by their nicknames.

O’Donnell, who even does an impersonation of family matriarch Mama June, tells People that she thinks Honey Boo Boo is like Shirley Temple.

“She has a presence and an intellect that goes way beyond her years,” says the comedienne.

In fact, she’s such a fan, O’Donnell says she’d “love to meet” the family that lives by a railroad in rural Georgia, and “buy them a house.”

    Rosie, although not a fan of yours, every amount of respect I’d had for you as a person has been washed down the drain. It’s because of people like you that degrading “TV shows” like “Toddlers & Tiara’s” are still being aired, thus allowing families like the oh-so-intelligent Thompson’s to get their exposure lousy 15 minutes of limelight.

    If I had to describe this family in one word it would be “vulgar.” Rosie’s career is in the toilet. She’s doing this totally for publicity.

    How could anybody watch and enjoy this show? I’ve never seen a full episode but I’ve seen enough to know that there is something seriously wrong with the mother. Rosie just needs her name to be involved with something that is relevant at the moment.

    They’ve said in other interviews that they are perfectly happy with where they live and what they have. Nice sentiment though. Anyone who has actually watched the show (I was adamant against it in the beginning) knows they are not vulgar. Of course, people making such comments probably grew up more privileged yet turned out with obviously rotten attitudes. These are not spoiled people, nor are they tainted by pop culture’s ideals. They are alright.

    How can you call a group of people you don’t even know disgusting? Better yet how could you call any child disgusting. You can’t judge a whole group of people on edited footage from a T.V show. You don’t know these people. From what I have seen they are a loving family, which by the way is much more important then coming from a well off family. Are they a typical American family? Maybe not, but calling them disgusting is taking it a bit far.

    OK I like Rosie but I think she needs to step away from the television. These people are getting paid so they don’t need her to buy them a house or anything else. This is one of the worst shows ever put on televison.

    I think its OK to say her parenting is Disgusting, no one should give a 7 year old child redbull, especially mixed with another high caffeine soda, it even says on the can not to give redbull to children, those pills truck drivers pop have less caffeine as well as small amounts of vitamins, technically the kids better off eating those : and keep in mind this is ignoring all of the child exploitation involved.
