Rosie O’Donnell “Blocking” Giada De Laurentiis From Party?
Is Rosie O’Donnell “blocking” Giada De Laurentiis from attending a party for “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” 20th anniversary? One outlet claims the chef has been banned from the event. Gossip Cop investigated, however, and here’s what we found out.
“Rosie O’Donnell Blocks Giada De Laurentiis From Attending Private Party,” reads a headline on RadarOnline, which writes, “Rosie O’Donnell is throwing a big reunion bash on June 10 to celebrate the 20th anniversary [of] her show’s first airing, but she’s got some strict rules for the event.” The site claims that while the former talk show host has “invited all past crew and staff, the famed comedian has made it abundantly clear that no plus-one guests are allowed!”
That’s where De Laurentiis supposedly comes in. The webloid states the Food Network star has “apparently been itching for an invite along with recent suitor, Shane Farley, who previously worked on Rosie’s show. Unfortuantely [sic] for O’Donnell, her strict rules won’t stop Giada, who, sources say, plans to show up to the party anyway!”
“This is a huge mistake. It’s Rosie’s party and she will kick her out. She isn’t welcome. She is not invited and has never worked on her show,” a so-called “insider” is quoted as saying. “Just because she’s a famous chef doesn’t mean that she is welcome!”
But Gossip Cop has learned that RadarOnline’s story is almost entirely wrong. While there is indeed a party coming up to celebrate “The Rosie O’Donnell Show,” the star’s rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop that O’Donnell “isn’t running it.” And what about the supposed policy against plus-ones?
“That not true, either,” the spokesperson tell us. As for De Laurentiis possibly “crash[ing] the event,” the celeb chef is currently on a family vacation in Italy. But even if she does return in time for the bash, Gossip Cop is told she’d be more than welcome to attend.
