Beastie Boys, Guns N’ Roses to be Inducted Into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Some of music’s most iconic acts can officially count themselves as rock royalty.

The Beastie Boys, Guns N’ Roses and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are among the bands to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.

The 2012 class also includes Rod Stewart‘s former group, The Small Faces/The Faces, as well as the late singer-songwriter Laura Nyro and folk singer Donovan.

Chaka Khan, Joan Jett, Donna Summer and The Cure were among those that were eligible but didn’t make the cut.

The 27th annual induction ceremony, to be held in Cleveland, will take place on April 14.

It will air on HBO in May.

    Who is in charge of chosing the inductees? Joan Jett was in the top five when voting ended…I smell a payoff! How sad the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame officials are no better than american politicans.

    So you think joan jett BEFORE GnR(whom i despise btw) and RHCP?….i want whatever you are smoking knucklehead…Both gnr and rhcp have ruled the world at some stage of their respective careers, influenced millions, sold countless number of albums and packed arenas around the world…joan jett has had 1mediocre hit with runaways, 1 big hit, then 1 very minor hit….and basically bugger all since, and plays clubs if she ever comes here…ive played to bigger houses in my hometown than her and im absolutely less than noone in the music biz…dont get me wrong, she deserves respect, but Hall of Fame?…cmon…who next? courtney love?…jesus wept
