Robin Williams was in plenty of kid-friendly fare over the years — including Aladdin and Mrs. Doubtfire — but his appearances on “Sesame Street” might be the most poignant of all to watch following the star’s shocking suicide.

As the world remembered Williams on Thursday and Friday, “Sesame Street” tweeted a picture of the star, along with the message, “We mourn the loss of our friend Robin Williams, who always made us laugh and smile” (see right).

Over the years, Williams helped to teach kids about ideas like “imagination” and “conflict.”

Most heartbreakingly, though, one segment had the comedian explaining to children what it means to be “alive.”
