Robin Williams Memorial: Famous Friends Remember, Celebrate Late Legend
Robin Williams was remembered at a memorial in San Francisco on Saturday.
His close friend Billy Crystal, who honored Williams at last month’s Emmy Awards, opened the memorial at the Curran Theatre with an emotional tribute to the comedian and actor, who took his own life on August 11.
Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Stiller, Joel McHale, Seth Green, George Lucas, Josh Groban and Danny DeVito were among the stars reported to be in attendance at the event.
Politicians Nancy Pelosi and Jerry Brown were also present.
According to Us Weekly, Williams’ friends and family wore ribbon wristbands that read, “Love the stillness of life.”
Williams’ stunning death sent shockwaves through Hollywood, and his loss is still being mourned throughout show business.
Earlier this week, Matt Damon said in an interview that he and Ben Affleck owed “everything” to Williams.
