Robin Roberts Marrying Girlfriend Over Holidays And Starting Family Via IVF?
Robin Roberts is NOT getting married, nor is she starting a family via IVF, despite an inaccurate new report that originated in the National Enquirer. Gossip Cop can debunk this exclusively because, quite simply, we fact-check stories.
The supermarket tabloid alleges in its new issue that the “Good Morning America” anchor “plans to marry longtime girlfriend Amber Laign over the holidays, and then the two will start a family via in vitro fertilization.” A so-called “pal” tells the Enquirer that Roberts feels “on top of the world” lately thanks to renewed health and a new ABC contract, and “can’t think of anything better than showing Amber how much she loves her by exchanging vows.”
The supposed friend goes on to speculate about how Roberts’ nuptials will likely be a “quiet affair,” albeit one where Michelle Obama is invited, and maybe “bring Barack along.” Yes, that sure sounds quiet to us! Anyway, the Enquirer’s tipster further speculates that, after the wedding, Laign may do IVF “if it’s medically feasible.”
Well, “GMA” viewers shouldn’t send Roberts any congratulatory well-wishes just yet, as there are NO wedding or baby plans in the works. A rep for the star tells Gossip Cop exclusively that the Enquirer story is “absolutely false.” That’s not surprising, considering the tabloid wrongly claimed Roberts and Laign were in a “$125 million prenup battle” 11 months ago. Of course, not one word of that is mentioned in the Enquirer’s latest misinformed article.
