Robert Plant Did NOT Secretly Get Married

A number of outlets have wrongly reported that rock legend Robert Plant secretly married singer-songwriter Patty Griffin.

The confusion came after the Led Zeppelin frontman was quoted in The Independent as saying, “I eloped and ran off to Texas.”

E! Online and dozens of other sites took the statement at face value, as a confirmation of Plant secretly marrying.

But it seems the rocker was just making a joke.

A rep for Plant says in a statement, “Robert has not married Patty Griffin. He was just referring to the fact that he’s been residing in Texas.”

There you have it.

Gee, can’t imagine why there’d be confusion. :) BTW: Griffin is a legend, too.

Come on… not compared to Robert Plant. Although a great songwriter, Grifin does not even seem his type, and furthermore, something just never felt right on this one, at least for me.

I really like Griiffin but don’t agree on the word “legend”. As a compliment, she’d have to be older for that. Look, Plant has had relations with unseen women in the years, and while i wish the “marriage” is true.. yet something tells me it could be just another of his disappearing acts when his game is through. I feel he wanted more Grammys as his tenure with Alison Krauss fame was through. Perhaps he needed all the bennies this time that a Christian won’t give prior. Well, no Grammies Robert this time. Hey, servies you right dude….

At a recent show in Austin, someone i know overhead them fighting in the parking lot that it was “over” between them. My dear friend was so distraught over it, that she went home early. Shes a huge Patty Griffin fan. Let’s just wish them all well folks…
