Well, as a mother whose 20 year son went through a similar thing, it’s hard to stay neutral. You of course have to be there for your child and give him support. I won’t get into specifics, but it was hell! He took it soooo hard, but still wanted to maintain a relationship with her. My advice to him was that if he wanted to remain in the relationship, he would have to learn to forgive her, forget and move forward without regret. I was so mad, but I didn’t hate the young lady, because truly she was young (18), but I had my moments trust me. Anyway, this was very eerily similar to what we went through. Everyones situation is going to be different. My son did not want me or my husband to hate her. He kept telling me not to hate her. I needed to be there for him so I took my own advice and did what I didn’t think I was capable of doing, I forgave her for hurting my boy and I even called and spoke with her. Anyway, though my son choose not to remain with her, I know for a fact that he regrets it! He was to immature and young to get past this and truly he was, only 19 at the time. You shouldn’t be in a deep serious relationship at that age anyway. I don’t hate the young lady & I know they still talk via twitter, facebook & they occasionally hang out. She is I believe someone he cares for very much. Who knows, maybe someday they’ll find their way back to each other, or maybe not, but I’m grateful that I was able to stand back, offer support and keep my son grounded through that time.

Looks like they did their thing for a while and decided there wasnt anything better out there. See, it makes it look like they cant help it but be together, not because they were weak or desperate.

I don’t think it’s about portraying her as begging.. I think that it is about her being remorseful and trying to show that to the public by not going out, and pushing her image back out there.

No one asked Kristen about Rupert because her team made it clear even before the interview started that NO PERSONAL QUESTIONS would be allowed. If they did the interview would be over

Secondly it doesn’t matter that Rob was on entertainment shows, if the message was made clear to entertainment shows that personal questions would not be allowed they would honor it especially if they want him to come back

Rob makes his own decisions about his public image. Unfortunately the scandal had to be acknowledged at that point. It was a terribly awkward situation for him, he handled it beautifully. IMO going on Stewart, who they could count on to make light of it, for his first interview was a good strategy. Afteward everyone talked about what a gentleman Rob is. The rest of the week’s press focused on the movie.

GMA was going to talk about the scandal, everyone was expecting it. The scandal was very fresh then. Rob used GMA to discredit the tabloids. It was great! Rob handles press and his public image differently than Kristen. He did extremely well that week
