It’s a shame this is the only news to come out of this Q&A session. It was a fascinating, intelligent, funny 90 minute session on Cosmopolis, film making, actors, world events, philosophy… Cronenberg is incredibly charismatic and easy to listen to. The embarrassment wasn’t because of the question, the embarrassment was caused by the “fans” inappropriate behaviour which continued throughout the whole interview.They also rudely interrupted David Cronenberg while he attempted to speak. Rob and David were intelligent,articulate and interesting,it’s just a shame for Rob that he attracts some incredibly classless followers who evidently have limited social skills and no concept of appropriate codes of dress and behaviour.

This interview was GREAT and I think the only thing awkward about it was the way the fans reacted. If you watch the entire interview…the interviewer did not mean to bring up Kristen nor did he ask a question about her or Rob’s relationship with her, he was simply trying to clarify what Rob was saying. I kind’ve felt bad for the interviewer–NOT Rob–because he was so nice and supportive throughout the entire interview session. Also heard from a few people that the ladies in the crowd rushed the stage for their water bottles and stuff after Rob left…totally unacceptable behavior from fans in my own opinion.

It was refreshing to see someone who really ‘got’ the movie talk about it with these two. You could tell the guy enjoyed it and he remembered some pretty minute details. It was a deep and intelligent conversation that ended way to soon. It’s a shame that this is the part that everyone is talking about. It was one moment out of many great moments that seem to be forgotten. Other than this one slip, I thought the guy did a great job and it was the best Q&A I’ve seen.

I have read a few comments here. I have to say that Kristen is far more powerful than I expected. She still has fans sticking up for her when she’s done wrong. It’s not necessarily a matter of “not enough”. The psychology of infidelity isn’t that cut and dried. You can say it till you’re blue in the face; it doesn’t change that fact. I don’t think he is an excellent actor but he has the potential to do good work, starting with Cosmopolis. I hear the last scene of the movie is the best scene. Most of the film is conducted in a limo with long speeches. I don’t think it will be successful at the box office but at least he is receiving critical acclaim, even if it is mixed, it is some of his best reviews in a long time. With these other projects, I am certain he will improve his acting skills working with all these international directors.

I do think sometimes it would have been better for the two of them to have acknowledged their relationship years ago. It probably would have taken the wind out of the media sails and allowed a good portion of the furor to die down. Too much of the attention on them was grounded in the “are they/aren’t they” boondoggle, and the story was more often than not about their status as a couple, rather than about whatever film they were promoting — or hell, about each of them developing as actors. Reporters and interviewers almost always had an agenda, however large or small: try to get one of them to slip up and admit they were dating. That was becoming a real burden.

So I think if they had finally just said in so may words, “Okay, yeah, we’re dating”, then the issue would have become “meh”, because the game was over. Then both of them might have been able to focus more on their film careers and establish themselves.

It was, but it can be forgiven. The interview was great. The host has done his homework on the movie, there were serious questions about it, too. Pattinson and Cronenberg have done very well, especially Cronenberg – knowledgeable, intelligent, true master of his trade, and an artist. Just the way he says sth, and how he says it: listening to him is pure pleasure. Some of the audience – no comment.

If you truly love someone you don’t cheat on them and then lie to their face about it. He’s already moved on, that much is clear to me. If there was any chance of them getting back together he wouldn’t have laughed when Jon Stewart told him to kick her to the curb.

I myself am NOT a Pattinson fan, but I couldnt help but comment on the immature, obnoxious behaviour of most of his fans. They treat him like a child. You do realize that the man already has a mother and doesnt need 1000000000000 more. Half of his fan base is looking to mother him and the other half is looking to screw him. So sad. You, including you people on here and other gossip sites “standing up for him”, do the man no favors whatsoever. You are starting to make him look like a fool that cannot take care of his own life. As a previous member of this “fandom” and a personal friend of some of Rob’s friends I have to comment on the “fans” at this event. Some of these woman I know and are even ‘friends’ with on FB/Twitter but I completely agree when it comes to their actions regarding Rob. I myself was victim to excessive over the top hatred and was even threatened by these woman because of something I said. The obsessive, delusional, inability to separate reality from fiction is quite disturbing and darn right scary. These woman embarrass themselves more than they do Rob as he finds it all completely strange and honestly pays no attention to most of it. I find most of these woman are well into their 40′s, unhappily married, divorced or single and not to be mean but usually extremely heavyset and have no lives outside of these fan based reality groups they become a part of. They sit behind their computers and follow every morsel of information they can about him and spend all of their hard earned money stalking him wherever he goes. I myself fell into this trap at one point but realized I had more important things to do with my life and stepped away from the craziness. With that said, I was a fan of Kristen Stewart’s long before I even knew who Robert Pattinson was. I have a lot of respect for her as an actress/producer/filmmaker and what she does in her personal life is her business just as what i do in mine is my business. Rob’s friends NEVER and i mean NEVER talk about his personal life to anyone, I can’t speak for Kristen’s as I do not know any of them personally. I have met Rob a few times and I also worked on a film with him (i work in production as well) and he is indeed a very nice, respectful guy and is very quiet around people he doesn’t personally know but he is not perfect and he honestly could care a less about what any of you say about him or Kristen. He appreciates his fans i’m sure but coming from someone who works in this industry most actors use their fans to promote themselves and that’s about as far as it goes because as soon as they start to allow those people to step across the line & into their personal lives they no longer have an identity. I’m sure I will get replies from many of you as to why i am on here commenting if i no longer am a part of the fandom and my answer is simply this..I am tired of hearing about it and I wish for everyone to realize they are NOT involved in their lives and to move on. The sooner we get this nonsense out of the tabloids/news/industry the faster we can move on to watching these 2 people act in movies again!

I agree 100% and I said the same, in another post some days ago. Hollywood is not the right place to be, when you tries to save your relationship and that may very well be the biggest obstacle for a reconciliation in this case.

I agree with you. It is one thing to like the books and enjoy watching to movies, but many in the random are scary. I saw them camped out last Nov. For the BE premier and I was embarrassed for them. They had no respect for themselves or the stars of the movie. They kept screaming during the movie when any of the male characters were on the screen. It was embarrassing and ridiculous. Someone from the audience finally yelled at them to shut up and match the movie. Seriously ladies, you need to calm down and step back and evaluate what your purpose actually is as a fan. You can start by supporting the actors and stop buying the rag mags at the check out counters and stop with the hateful comments. You can lead the random positively as fans of the books and movies and stop dwelling on the personal lives of the actors. When a woman cheats, it’s usually physical attraction paired with an emotional component. I think it’s the idea that your woman has feelings for the other guy that makes it so difficult to forgive.

I would not defend Rob either if he had done what she did. It is an unfortunate practice (in the midia as in the US courts) to slander the victim’s image to gain simpathy for the accused. Cronenberg stated during an interview with Rob where Rob was being grilled (“are you OK…your fans are worried that you have been depressed and binge-drinking!”) that “people react to what they think it is but it is NOT.” And I believe he was referring not only to the drinking thing but to the whole situation. And when Rob stated in another interview that “things fall apart when it is time for them to fall apart”, and also his comment that he does not have a publicist and the world would be a better place if people did not have publicists (I believe he was referring to Kristen’s statement), you put 2 + 2 together and you get that there was trouble in paradise (between R & K) and he was not as blindsided as we think. Maybe he even wanted out. That does not mean it has been easy to be put through what he has been put through and having to face the midia and public so soon. And for people to say “he must not have made her happy which made her cheat” is again, blaming the victim for the bad decisions/actions of the culprit. Truth is: if you are not happy, get out! I don’t know if you saw the video, but David Carr has not made a nasty comment; he took Rob’s response to the previous question to make an analogy quite reasonable. He barely pronounce Kristen’s name and the boos already started. The disrespectful behavior of the audience is the cause of the embarrassing situation, and as other said, not only once, but during the whole Q&A.
And even if the interviewer was being rude (which he’s not), Rob is an intelligent and articulate 26 year-old man very capable of taking care of himself. The “fans” reacted as if he were a helpless child, making him look like a fool.

Have you ever heard the term “You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone”? I think that’s a very true statement. I don’t know their relationship…none of us do. We only know what we’ve read (whether its true or not) and what we’ve all seen. And some of us interpret that information very differently. I truly believe she loves him. (It was reblogged) She said that he started to sign someone’s autograph and stopped because she said something derogatory about Kristen. He looked at her told her to back off and walked away. Is that true? I don’t know but if it is it does speak to his character.

This interview was set up way before the “scandal.” Do your research. All of this press would have been the same because Rob and Cronenberg are doing a movie together. They are very big names in cinema whether it’s an independent film or not. Unfortunately they didn’t talk much about the movie because all this other crap gets the gossip gawkers to watch–not the real fans who are genuinely interested in the movie and those involved.

The truth is, no one knows how much Rob drinks. So why make a statement like that, as if you knew? While Rob seems like a great guy, I highly doubt he’s perfect because no human is. As my screen name implies, I am a huge fan of Rob, but I am not blind or gullible. I will tell you that when I was 26 I drank like a fish, and then there were times when I wouldn’t touch any alcohol for months at a time. It doesn’t mean much, other than I was young. i know the media is all concentrated on the cheating case but honestly i got an impression that Robert enjoyed that interview. while watching it i kind of forgot that the scandal is going to be brought. it sounds like an interesting and funny conversation between three intelligent men. DC was very relaxed, Rob was cute and shy, yes shy because i think he didn’t even look at girls ogling him happily :). And yes Farrell’s comments were satirical. He was poking fun at the fandom and the media outlets for all the hysteria. His “she’s aTrampire” remark was direct hit at the Daily News-considered once to be one of NY’s better, serious news sources. It’s getting to be just like the POST-wish I had a birdcage to line!

I just saw the Q&A-can’t believe they mentioned Snooki too-I was hysterical. But the whole KS non-question wasn’t a big deal. And I spotted a number of males and a much wider range of females than has been illuded to. No offense but the whole commentary on that moment and reaction was much ado about nothing. It was quippy and gracefully exited with humor. The Q&A was very engaging.

I see the numbers are in and the box did extremely well for Specialty release. Go see it when it hits wide if you can, not just because of who’s been cast but because it’s a really good film. I enjoyed it. Would I see it again? Yes and with more friends who liked the novel and questioned the adaptability to the screen. I think they will thank me and buy me drinks after show. Have fun!

Rob was dating Nikki Reed (please excuse me if the spelling is wrong!) at the beginning of the first Twilight movie. He then decided that he & Kristen had chemistry together … So he broke it off with Nikki (broke it off = dumps her on her rear ..). So he’s not quite the gentleman when it comes to dating. Think about it – Nikki had to sit on the sidelines, hurt & angry … Watching him date another girl.

The statement above is actually not relative to the point, except to point out that while Kristen is being thrown ro the wolves Rob has this sterling reputation. His fans have him up on a pretty high pedestal .. I worry what’s going to happen when he falls / or is knocked off. That’s going to be a from a very high pedestal … And it’s going to be painful

And Rob *is* very good at handling himself, but I still wouldn’t quite call him a man. He needs more life experience, and more time to grow as a person. This is not an insult. I know when I was in my mid to late 20s, I sure had a lot to learn! 20 years later I look back and shake my head at how mature I thought I was back then.
