Gossip Cop has spent hours reaching out to everyone to verify the Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart shocker heard ’round the world.
Initially, we were told the interview was “a fake.”
We then contacted many, many more individuals, including the author of the explosive interview published in The Sun, “R-Patz admits: I AM with K-Stew.”
Unlike numerous other sites which took the interview at face value and never fact checked, including Hollyscoop (“Robert Pattinson Confirms He’s Dating Kristen Stewart) and HollywoodLife (“Finally, Kristen! Your boyfriend R-Patz ADMITS you are a couple!”), Gossip Cop verified with the reporter — more than once over the course of a few hours — what was and wasn’t said on Sunday.
The reporter told Gossip Cop Pattinson “didn’t say ‘we are a couple,’” adding that “he wasn’t going to spell it out in great detail.”
What the reporter did ask during the post-BAFTAs dinner, where Pattinson was several feet away from Stewart for this Q&A, was, “Is this a public appearance together?”
The reporter told Gossip Cop Pattinson replied, “We are together.”
When Gossip Cop pressed him on whether Pattinson’s response meant he and Stewart were a couple, the reporter said, “That’s my assumption from what he said.”
OK, so Pattinson never actually said they were “a couple.”
The Sun claims Pattinson “admitted” he and Stewart were a couple. But that is not the case.
This isn’t to say Pattinson and Stewart are or are not a couple.
But the claim that there was any kind of monumental admission or “fessing up” at the dinner on Sunday simply is not true.
As Gossip Cop has maintained from the beginning, it’s up to the actors to reveal when and what they want to reveal.

Why blame Rob’s managment? Anybody with sense knows not to take The Sun at face value. And I’m not seeing Kristen taking out ads saying that they are a couple either. Go back & look at her interviews. She refuses to talk about too and has even walked off when questioned about it.
I’m only interested inRob’s future projects. Cant you find out more about those.e.g when does Unbound Captives start filming.
In any event isnt it Kristen’s management riding this to death. Rob would have said straight a long time ago.

The only thing tabs are achieving is that people get tired of listening about them all the time, and that in itself is bad for Robert and Kristen’s careers… shame!

i´m sorry but when the reporter asked “Is this a public appearance together?” Rob just had to answer YES or NO, but he answer “We are together”. if you go to a party w/ someone you are trying your best not to be linked to, you don’t say “We are together.”
i don´t know about you guys, but to me “we are a couple” or “we are together” it means the same thing lol, at last in my country…. :) maybe Rob slip it out without thinking, but he said “WE ARE TOGETHER”

Okay, apparently the hater/nonstens who were freaked out over the supposed Rob ‘confessional’ to THE SUN (of all places) deluged Gossipcop with sniveling pleading missives to check it out, because we all know their world would end FINALLY if Rob speaks the unspeakable: that he and Kristen are together.

So Gossipcop, hyperventilating at their inbox blowing up and all the traffic that will ensue — mulls it over and over in their heads and comes up with a good title that is diametrically opposed to the actual article they post. They imply they’ve confirmed with Rob that he did not say they werre a couple: THAT is a lie.

But they know they’ll get fans outraged, and haters happy — so they go with that TITLE.

As most sane people know, Rob did not talk or give an exclusive to THE SUN.

But rather than saying THAT, Gossipcop, oddly enough, phrases it this way: Rob never said they were a couple. THAT is the title. In the Gossipcop article however, we read THAT THAT IS NOT TRUE, Gossipcop talks to NO ONE in Rob’s camp. They talked to THE SUN.

We determine this because Gossipcop SAYS SO.

They claim they TALKED TO THE REPORTER, who says Rob told him that he and KRISTEN “WERE TOGETHER.” The reporter says he made assumptions based on that.

Now, I have to tell you…I don’t believe this EITHER.

However, Gossipcop, apparently is willing to take THIS at face value, and USE the reporters statements in their piece.

Why not go all the way, and say THE SUN made an interview up.

Why would you put Rob Pattinson in the position of DENYING his girlfriend in THE TITLE OF YOUR Gossipcop piece??

Everyone KNOWS Rob did not speak to THE TABLOID NEWSPAPER THE SUN, AT ALL. Why wouldn’t Gossipcop just say that?! If you’re not willing to say THAT – and you post what you say the reporter said, that Rob says “they’re together” — you do one of two things: 1) You post that there was an interview and this is what the reporter claims. Or you say, that YOU, Gossipcop, have come to the conclusion that THE SUN is lying. You CANNOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS if you’re about “BUSTING BAD DISH.”

It’s almost as if, you don’t want to say outright that THE SUN is lying and that there was NO INTERVIEW, but you want to create your own GOSSIP by catering to all the jealous fangirl/women that blew up your inbox, so you tell the world that Robert NEVER said they were a couple.

But Gossipcop never spoke with Robert or his people.

For those of us who aren’t Gossipcops dup, it’s not about what Rob SAID, or didn’t say in an interview BECAUSE THEIR WAS NO INTERVIEW.

It’s CLEAR, that Rob’s people did not want to address this with Gossipcop, or address it at all. Gossipcop ignored that, and went to the tabloid.

Apparently Rob’s people were going to let it lie, because the premise on it’s face is ridiculous: Rob talking to THE SUN, is like Brad Pitt talking to THE NATNL ENQUIRER. No need to address sh*t, because anyone with a brain, KNOWS it didn’t happen.

Yet Gossipcop, wants to please the haters who bombarded their site and inbox pleading to be assured with their crazed jealous assses that Rob did not ‘confirm.’

Gossipcop, you’re almost as ridiculous as they are. But remember, the fans of these two young people would rather you stood on principle and called this lying rag what it is, rather than throw Kristen and Rob under the bus, by coming up with a title that suggested ROB spoke with you AND TOLD YOU he himself, never said they were together. It’s a REAL sh*tty thing to do.

So, to all Rob and Kris fans, I hope you can see how Gossipcop operates in a fraudulent nonsensical manner in order to maximize hits and traffic.

There was no need to title this piece as if you had reached Rob Pattinson and he spoke with you and told you that. That is almost worse than the original tabloid lie.

A tabloid making up a lie that Rob said they were together, is not as hurtful as YOU, GOSSIPCOP making up a lie in your headline, inferring ROB told you they were NOT. THAT did not happen. Your own article confirms that you never contacted or spoke with Rob Pattinson or his people.

It’s abhorrent IMO, especially when you know these two people are together and you are inferring differently in your title, for the hits, and traffic and to possibly please handlers and tabloids – then you say something differently in the piece.

I’m studying to be a journalist, but these false articles from ”professional” journalists are a disgrace.
What I think is that people are exaggerating the reality.
The truth is that they both (Kris and Rob) are the couple of the year, but in the movie!
As much as we Identify with the story of the twilight, we can not expect that their romance in a movie becomes a reality.
It may happen, eventually, but I think that journalists ”invented’ this kind of article, because people do not let the actors breathe in peace.
I think this was only news because the fans want too much that they become a couple in reality.

I forgot to tell something, I don’t know if it’s true what GC said there, or even know if it’s true that Rob said whatever to someone, I just gave my opinion on the matter of them being a couple or not. If Rob really spoke to THE SUN? I don’t know, I don’t speak with Rob (obviously), if GC did the article as it should be? I’ve got nothing to say about it, everyone has the right to do things their way, and this site is yours GC, and it’s expected from you to end the false rumors and not to create new ones. Anyway, I say again as I said in another article on this site, this site is a lot of work on the part of GC, for the most part I liked the articles I have read on this site. Of course, GC, there are always things to improve is not it? This is part of life, we all make mistakes to learn from them. So I really hope that your work improves article after article.

This whole business today wreaks of some clever publicity games by the Summit/Twilight juggernaut. At last check there were close to a 1000 sources on google news related to this supposed ‘admission’ by Pattinson. Who knows how many hundreds of thousands of eyeballs that translates into over this, and even more importantly, how much free press that spells for the next leg of the Twilight series which starts up yet again, shortly?
The beauty of this game is that they then use a “source” for this supposed admission that generally is untrusted, or at a minimum, suspect. By using The Sun as the source they leave everyone wondering, ‘is it or isn’t it’? Given that, the entire issue of this assumed or alleged relationship between Pattinson and Stewart is left precisely where it was prior to all this free publicity…. people are just as unsure or as uncertain or as convinced as they were inclined to be before all the free publicity. A brilliant zero-sum game where all that is accomplished is a great deal of free publicity with no extension of information whatsoever.
Accidents rarely happen with quite that degree of perfection.
I think that Kristen is crazy about Rob but he … well it looks like he just wants to be friends :D
Bullet, you are right on target (pardon the pun) – I don’t expect ‘Gossipcop,’ to acknowledge the game that’s being played however, as you can read in this piece they just wrote (busting the lying tabloid by asking the lying tabloid if they’re lying – but then calling your piece: ‘Rob Pattinson Never Said He & Kristen Stewart Are A Couple.’ Not only is Gossipcop playing right along with the publicity game, they are kicking Pattinson & Stewart in the teeth. What’s your take on why they would title their piece like this? They actually infer they talked to Pattinson. Do we need a Gossipcop FOR Gossipcop?? Give us your opinion on this so-called media watchdog, do you think, as I do, that they are less of a media/tabloid watchdog and more of a conduit or tool to aid in the tabloid publicity games? Like you say, they impart almost NO info, they validate nothing but they outright lie in their tags and titles. What frauds.

I just saw a video of Kristen being interviewed on the red carpet for Elle Style Awards, some male reporter started to quiz her about Robert Pattinson . Kristen’s publicist immediately terminated the interviews and ushered Kristen away. The only people who know the truth are Robert and Kristen. They are both are young, talented and both are private people. He would never have given an interview like this. I guess that since Rob and Kristen were seen leaving the after parties together the “Sun” thought that people would fall for this. I am not taking sides on the Robsten vs Nonsten thing. I just think that these young people will confirm stuff either way…when they are good and ready and it won’t be to a tabloid like the “Sun”.

@Cleo– I appreciate your shout out, but I can’t really say that I was attempting to call out gossip cop as part of the problem here. Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t, but what is certain to me is that this was very skilled manipulation of the so-called “press” to garner an awful lot of free publicity without any advancement whatsoever of actual information that was offered to the public. The press should never feel a sense of comfort when crafty publicists render them little more than being a tool.
i believe something between the line, rob is totally ready to admit it. body language shows. rob is in his country, he’s more likely to say things that what he feels. his actions were unguarded and i guess sometimes he forgets that he is not suppose to show or divulge their relaysh. i hate to go in circles again but i really dont need their confirmation. i dont want to go back to that question again. for me, everything i see, gathered infos and accident revelations are suffice. this couple is for real.
Whatever is between these two the fact remains that Rob was with a girl with auburn hair, at the Notting Hill Arts Club, on 7th February, the day before the Bel Ami shoot began. My friend has no idea who she was. Personally I don’t think K/R are exclusive; I believe they’re together when they are in the same country and that’s it. I think that’s the reason they don’t talk about it — some people might think it a little strange. It’s obvious that Rob has a much easier life over here – no chasing from nutty fans/photogs and left to live an almost normal life. I suspect he is now planning on being based back here rather than in LA and will only travel there for work. This makes a 1:1 relationship difficult when a couple are 8,000 miles apart and I would be very surprised if KS would want to be here on a permanent basis. I believe she likes warm weather but there’s not much chance of that here and I think their relationship will fade away once Twilight is done. He’s definitely a city boy and no one could ever describe LA as a city. Don’t ever believe what is said in The Sun. I wouldn’t use it to wipe my feet on.
Rob and Kristen don´t need to confirm that they are together because it´s evident. They don´t deny nothing.
If they are only friends and no couple the logic is deny it after all. And if they are friends, why not going together in the Bafta to support a friend having a price?? Have you seen the Rob´s face when she won?? he was happy and proud and the face of Dustin Hoffman look at him seeing him slap her.
But when a Hollywood couple wants to despite the medias is for something, they went together but separate in the Bafta but they getteway together in tne same car, strange??
Sometimes it´s ridiculous, the better I think is not saying nothin but yes going once time in a event as a couple, like this it´a like a confirmation that they are dating and them can live their love story free. They must acting with normality.

Personally, thank you GC for calling out The Sun reporter and calling him or her to get the scoop – unlike the other sites that just reported it as fact. And also, though I’d love to have Robert admit he and Kristen are together, which it seems like you know, it’s kind of cool that you respect Robsten and feel if they have something to talk about publicly it should really come from them.
Keep up the good work GC, and disregard the others, they’re just jealous haters. It’s SO obvious.

Thank you for busting this rumor wide open. People need to learn how to not use quotes to further their own agenda. Robsten fans should have known that Robert would not just come out like that and say it. I highly doubt that they’re together in the first place.

Robert said that he had a crush on Kristen. Crushes are crushes. Once you act on the crush you become addicted to the person. I think that Robert acted on this crush with Kristen. I do not believe that Kristen is meant for Robert.
Whenever I see Robert and Kristen together in photos he look sad like something is missing and he is hardly smiling and laughing I saw some photos of Robert and Camilla Belle and they were laughing. He looked so happy. I think she will be a better match for Robert than Kristen.

Hi Shann —- The people in this photo is not Rob and Kristen. Someone gave up the deets on this photo back in late December or January. It was staged as a joke. I don’t remember the story behind the photo now but it is not legit….
