Robert Pattinson May Be “Sexiest Man Alive,” But Cover is Fake

A purported People cover making its way around the interwebs today is sure to grab some eyes: it shows “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson as the magazine’s pick for “Sexiest Man Alive.”

While Pattinson may very well be crowned 2009′s Sexiest… he hasn’t yet (officially), and what’s pictured definitely won’t be the cover.

People magazine’s managing editor Larry Hackett told Gossip Cop the cover is a fake, calling the interest a “testament to the success” of the “Sexiest Man Alive” franchise.

The actual announcement will be made tomorrow morning on “Today.”

So who will it be?

When Gossip Cop floated the names Bradley Cooper and Pattinson as who we considered leading contenders, Hackett would only say he was sporting a big smile. Hmm. Sounds like we may have been on the right track?

    i seriously think it is RYAN REYNOLDS.. @peoplemag was giving clues on twitter saying that the SMA has starred in a blockbuster franchise (true, rpattz fits this description but…) and has proposed to at least one woman. has rpattz proposed to anyone we know of? kstew? okay, case in point: one, ryan reynolds has appeared on x-men, a blockbuster franchise. AND two, he has proposed to sandra bullock… i mean, scarlett johansson! (..and alanis morissette?). yeah the clue about proposing, i thought it was an allusion to “the proposal”. so, what do u think? will i get a prize if i guessed it right?? haha XD

    p.s. I STILL WANT ROBERT PATTINSON TO WIN!! HE WILL 4EVER BE THE SEXIEST MAN IN MY BOOK. :D

    Well, Rob will be on Today tomorrow, so could that be a clue!! He is definately the sexiest man alive, in my opine!! Bradley is not too bad to look at either, ah those eyes!! Alas, there is only one RPatz!

    I Actually do think it’ll be Rob, as during the Twilight press Junket it mentioned in numerous interviews his tendency to propose to ladies. He even showed a text saying “are we still getting married this friday?” on Access Hollywood. So yeah i think it’s Rob from all those clues. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

    I think he’ll be too… This guy seems to be everywhere… and I mean EVERYWHERE… and that’s probably not that good… overexposure, ie…
    Bradley Cooper looks good, I wouldn’t mind if he were… really… sexy guy…
    “Sexiest man alive”… I really do not like how that sounds… but that’s just me… ;)

    Rob is on the Today show on Thursday. Not tomorrow. Kristen is going to be on The Today show tomorrow and then she is goes to Regis and Kelly. The reveal on The Today show will be at 9:30 am. Kristen will be long gone by then.
