Kristen Stewart “Breakup” and Makeup Stories Laughable

This almost defies parody.

Last week, the National Enquirer rewrote the rules of journalism (and threatened Gossip Cop‘s sanity) by publishing a story about Kristen Stewart on page 12… that totally contradicted a story about Kristen Stewart on page 2.

We all enjoyed a hearty laugh.

Well, the Enquirer has come roaring back this week with some more airtight reporting!

It publishes a Kristen Stewart story on page 12… that totally contradicts a story about Kristen Stewart on page 4.

Yup.

This week, the Enquirer somehow manages to print conflicting items even closer together!

In one piece, the tab is “gravely sad” to report that Robert Pattinson has “confessed to pals that his tortured love affair with Kristen is ‘really, really over!’”

Claims an Enquirer insider, “Rob finally made the decision to make a clean break, and he’s acting really happy — like a great load’s been lifted off his shoulders!”

Apparently, it was co-star Reese Witherspoon‘s advice that he should “have fun” while he’s still young that convinced Pattinson to declare the romance done. He “gathered his courage” and split with Stewart, who “played it cool” but supposedly has been hurt terribly by his decision.

Normally, we’d point out that the Enquirer failed to mention the couple’s recent social outings together — like dinner and a concert, or that its “sources” might be the same ones who gave the tab lousy information last week.

But the Enquirer also forgot to check in with… itself.

This week’s issue reports just eight pages earlier that Stewart “nearly got arrested when she showed up in full vampire makeup” to surprise Pattinson on the Water for Elephants set on July 8. Not recognized by security, Stewart was almost apprehended “when Rob swooped in and explained who the trespasser really was!”

Wait.

Kristen Stewart dressed up like a vampire and sneaked on to the set (on page 4) to surprise the man who made a “clean break” with her (on page 12)?

We give the tabloid credit for its high-wire act, but once again it falls flat on its face.

At this rate, the Enquirer will be contradicting itself on the same page by August!

    GossipCop, do you consider K&R a couple? Because you sure seem pretty affirmative on this one. And yet they never confirmed it, have they?

    The National Enquirer’s stories are usually messed up… Why waste any time with them? Btw, is it true at all K showed up at the Water for elephants set? You should debunk this one.

    I don’t get it. Why is there such debate whether Kristen and Rob are a couple or not? Will your life change, if they are? Will the world end, if they are not? Quite frankly I don’t believe that Reese Witherspoon gave any relationship advice to Rob. Why would something so personal come out in public, when Rob and Kristen are so private.

    Kristen may or may not have gone to visit Rob. Dressed as a Vampire….I don’t think so. She just left LA for Montreal to work on OTR. I am sure that tabloids are saying that there was a break-up when in actually all that happened was the young woman went to work. But because they will not be together in LA , because he’s there working Water for Elephants(and will go to concerts to see his friends perform) and she’s in Montreal working on her film,it’s a convenient time to make up another story. I remember when the filming for Eclipse was completed, they day after the set broke down, the tabloids put out stories that they broke-up, as soon as they were seen getting along during the promotional tours they had them back together.

    To be quite frank those dating comments that he made during the press junkets, were just offhanded comments. They were an opinion stated after being asked to a direct question. He wasn’t giving away any relationship details. Just like he wasn’t insinuating that he was gay when he made the “I hate vaginas.” comment when being interviewed while he was in Europe filming.

    If they are not a couple, they are at the very least friends. They have been working together for a number of years. If they are a couple they may not go public until all of the Twilight Saga stuff is complete. They themselves would probably like to make sure that they are not caught up in the fantasy of the situation.

    For the record, Rob gave an interview about why he did the Details shoot. It was pulled soon afterward. He said his people wanted him to do it to get used to being around females for Bel Ami due to his tendency to go red and have a reaction in intimate scenes. The vagina comment was a poor joke. It goes, doctor, I think I am allergic to girls, when I’m near them, I swell up. Rob is a typical red blooded young guy that reacts to his costars that he finds attractive. Emilie, Reese and at one time Kristen before he knew her. Hardwicke put him in a lot of sexy scenes (deleted but on You Tube) that must have been pretty embarrassing. If you are shy, the last thing you want is to have your body show that you are excited in front of crews, cast and director. The Details shoot made him feel stupid and he did not know what to say to these naked women that he did not know. He was raised to be a gentleman. Many men have to have feelings for the person before they can get physical.

    The main reasons that the discussion and rumors about their hypothetical relationship need to cease is because being linked to a loose canon like Kristen is bad for his career. Her fans tend to use bad language and drop sexual remarks all over the sites that the young fans visit for info about the Twi saga and Rob and he is entitled to privacy and to be able to move on with his life. Rob should be able to date and get married without retribution against his real girlfriend/fiancee/wife. Robsten fanatics are for some reason invested in this SCREEN COUPLE. Find a hobby, volunteer, learn an instrument, study abroad of do something with your lives instead.

    If Summit won’t make Kristen apologize and be penalized for her comments, gestures, scandal and public unprofessional behavior, then parents will keep making sure that she is not idolized by young girls and the facts are out there instead of fantasy. There are ramifications for what she did. We want her away from the young fans and her fans away from the net if they can’t be civil, use proper language and not report people they disagree with online.
