After that, the paper takes a nosedive.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are supposedly on the rocks, claims the paper, which argues that “away from the limelight the Hollywood stars’ relationship is anything but love’s young dream.”

According to The Sun, while Pattinson and Stewart had chemistry on-stage at last night’s MTV Movie Awards, “their behavior backstage told a completely different story.”

Says a Sun source, “They were very lukewarm considering they are supposed to be this golden couple. It seems they are far hotter in front of the camera than off it.”

In fact, claims this supposed source, “behind the scenes things seemed a little frosty.”

Hmm.

Actually, what’s ice cold here is the reporting.

Because what cameras caught backstage last night was the two Twilight stars holding hands and looking every bit like a couple, even away from the Gibson Amphitheater crowds.

Of course, The Sun has a spotty record when it comes to judging Stewart’s public interactions.

After all, this is the same publication that once showed her with a “mystery man” and had zero clue it was Tom Sturridge – one of Pattinson’s close friends and a very well-known actor in his own right.

Tina1968 I agree with you. That article for the Sun though was probably written prior to the show. I watched all of the backstage stuff. They seem natural, and even if they are not a couple they definitely weren’t “frosty” towards each other. They actually seemed comfortable with each other. They did hold hands, and someone caught them in a candid picture actually giving each other a kiss. They weren’t posing. If they are a couple or not, people should just let these two be. These rumors, both positive or negative towards the relationship, will continue until the Twilight stuff is over. The speculation will continue until they both make a definitive statement one way or another. I think that they won’t say anything until they are good and ready.

This whole PR thing is just BS. These two do not need PR. If they were a PR couple they would have walked the carpet hand in hand ages ago. And the whole “mystery” behind their relationship is only for a select few. Most of the world and media seem to accept that they are a couple and that they just don’t want to talk about it. If they wanted to keep it such a mystery, why doesn’t Rob say “what girlfriend?” when people ask him about Kristen that way?

Those two are not a showmance as you pr people want to call it. No, I don’t know their relationship personally, but all of the footage that is out there proofs to me that they are, in fact, a couple. You pr people are trying so hard to believe it’s pr, but not willing to believe that they actually can be a real couple who just does not want to sell their relationship to the highest bidder(they both have said this many times in interviews). Also, what good would it do if they did come out with it? Nothing. Robsten haters would still post nasty comments. You just don’t want to face the fact that they are both nice kids who are together and just trying to keep their relationship private and away from the spotlight. You can see by looking at them how she looks at him and how he looks at her…I think these two
are in love with each other and have been for a long time…..Kristen has never shown so much

I agree with you 100%. I am sure a lot of celebrities call the photogs when they leave the house so they can get photographed and embark on relationships purely for PR sake. But these two? I don’t think so. Neither of them looks like they care about being super famous. Rob seems amused by the attention and Kristen seems terrified of it. And Summit being behind their romance??? Two things. 1. These films don’t NEED more PR everyone is salivating over them already. 2. Neither of these kids strike me as puppets AT all!

That picture backstage does not show them kissing, and neither does the video. He’s leaning down to hear what she’s saying, they never make contact and they did not kiss. If you lighten the photo and get rid of the shadow you can see clearly, no kiss. If they did, the photo would be here and everywhere else.

But so what? Friends with benefits kiss a lot, doesn’t mean anything if they keep saying they’re single and not in a relationship. Other than a relationship that’s traumatic, which is what Rob called it in VF when he refused to say she was his girlfriend.

Sure they’re together, as friends with benefits, a relationship of convenience. He refuses to say she’s his girlfriend, he says in VF that their relationship is traumatic, he’s been seen out in Toronto with other girls, and she doesn’t say he’s her boyfriend either. Really I wonder if I watched the same show as everyone else… To me they acted exactly the same they did at the People’s Choice Awards… I watched the whole show and I’d be damned if you could call these two affectionate. They barely looked at each other in the audience and on stage. I’m not sure he looked at her when he won best performance and if I remember correctly he wasn’t even seating next to her when she won the same prize. Didn’t you see the very end of the MTV Movie Awards before they all walked off stage, Kristen and Nikki hugged each other. I know that. I work in the entertainment industry and have been to a couple of these awards. He may have been to the loo or sitting somewhere for an upcoming prize… My point is just that I don’t get people saying they never looked so in love, they were so affectionate, they looked adoringly to each other… Personally, I just thought they acted their usual distant selves, like they do most of the time and like they did at the People’s Choice.

I have to agree with MissZee on this one. To say you will no longer go to see Rob’s movies because he is not dedicated to KS is so totally wrong. I am now of the opinion that Rob’s private life is his own and what I want is to see him in his movies and give him all of my support regarding his career. Here’s the deal….people date many other people before they find that special person they want to spend the rest of their life with…that’s how it works. But, if that is the type of fan you are well…that’s your choice. Personally….Rob is better off without fans like you. Just my opinion.

Rob and Kris haven’t spent any time together accept for this appearance at the MTV Awards. She left Toronto on May 13 and hasn’t been back since. She’s hiding out in L.A. because something did happen after the MTV Awards. She’s not working, if they were a real couple she would have gone back to Toronto by now. It’s been over a month and he’s going out almost every night, bars, parties, dinners with pretty actresses. It’s all over Twitter, he’s not crying his eyes out over the fact that Kristen is in L.A.

During the entire show, they were moving people all over the place. When Jason Sedeikas interviewed that dude dressed as a rock, Rob was sitting behind them before hand and they made him move to another seat. He was not sitting with Kristen at that point either. They don’t always stay seated in the same seats throughout the night, especially when one or the other has to go on stage. There are plenty of fan videos of them throughout the night that you would not see on the actual show as to where and who with they were sitting at various times. It is a show first and foremost.

They were being paid to be at the MTV awards to promote their next movie. Besides, at the after party they did not hang out together, Rob went off with Andrew Garfield and Kristen went off with some girls and they left separately. She flew to London and then back to L.A. and he went back to filming in Toronto. She is not working in L.A., she has nothing keeping her there. If they were so happy together, she would be in Toronto now, but she isn’t. Looks like their friends with benefits deal is over. I’ll bet the next time we see them together it will also be at a paid promotional event.

She was at the LA film festival tonight, another PR opportunity. People who say she isn’t always promoting herself and that she isn’t concerned about being a big star are fooling themselves.
