Robert Pattinson Crashes Car On Red Nose Day Telethon — WATCH VIDEO!
Robert Pattinson crashed a car during the Red Nose Day telethon on Thursday, during an extended bit featuring British stars. Watch below!
The segment was introduced by Gwyneth Paltrow, who lived in London for a number of years while married to Chris Martin. The Oscar winner made a big entrance by spoofing action movies. She arrived via helicopter, jumped off the roof of a building, and then parachuted into the Hammerstein Ballroom… only to get stuck mid-air. Paltrow initially read her lines with host Seth Meyers while still suspended above the stage.
When she was eventually let down, she and Meyers explained that they made all the British stars work behind the scenes, because they didn’t want them to steal the spotlight on the first-ever U.S. edition of Red Nose Day, which has taken place in the U.K. for three decades. Orlando Bloom was seen manning the sound booth, Simon Cowell was revealed to be the telethon’s director, Naomi Campbell was working a camera, and Ian McKellen handled the teleprompter.
Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch slaved over cue cards, and Helen Mirren appeared delighted to provide refreshments. And then there was Pattinson, who was assigned to valet duty. The show cut to a parking garage, where the actor hopped into a guest’s car and sped away. Once Pattinson left the camera’s view, viewers could hear a big crash.
As Gossip Cop reported, Pattinson’s involvement in Red Nose Day was confirmed earlier this week. Like with a number of the celebrities featured on the mostly-live NBC broadcast, his piece with the fellow British stars appeared to be pre-taped. Check out the video below!
