Robert Pattinson Talks About Adele “Argument,” Fame & His Career Trajectory

VIDEO

(YouTube)

Robert Pattinson spoke about fame and his career path, and also shared a very funny anecdote about an “argument” with Adele, while speaking this week with CBC host George Stroumboulopoulos.

VIDEO BELOW

The Cosmopolis actor opened up about his comfort around other people, whether he has fears about where his career will go coming off his Twilight stardom, his disappointment in the predictability of big-budget movies, and a “ridiculous” late-night conversation with Adele that Pattinson later regretted.

It’s all pretty charming.

wait and see how the media blows this “argument” into a whole big thing when it’s obvious the two are probably friends and didn’t even take it seriously.

  • ruthie

They are friends. Adele called him an English national treasure.

Talk about the media taking a joke seriously… As usual. Medias have no sense of humour. They take everything literally.

agree with the comments here… Cowboy needs to find another celebrity’s picture to j off at:) .
one of the reasons we love Rob is that he doesn’t take himself as a wax figure from museum, always makes tasteful jokes of himself yet praising others at the same time

You shouldn’t speak so disparagingly about yourself.

It’s sweet that he took the time to set the record straight.

Why do haters insist on stalking anything to do with Rob & Kristen?

This idiot doesn’t even deserve a response.

  • Oleander

Is it really cowboy or are your confused gender issues showing again? Kristen will never love you, no matter how many times you try to say rude things about Rob. Still saving up for that transgender surgery? Is there somewhere we could donate? You need professional help, that much is clear. Get offline, go outside, soak up some of that rare Oregon sunshine. And do everyone a favor, stay offline, no one will miss you.

  • Lacy

Everything about Rob is charming, from his easy smile to his personality, which is why he’s so well liked. He was the King of Cannes, got fantastic reviews, and has been so funny talking about Cosmopolis. This was a very good interview, I can’t wait to see what Jimmy Kimmel asks him about making this movie. The sex scenes look like more than just the tip were involved.

  • Jules

This was a very decent and different interview with Cronenberg and the cast.
Oh, my, you envious person, you speak about yourself again. It is common knowledge indeed that the insecure guys who call other STRAIGHT guys ‘fags’ are F A G s themselves. So, my poor FAG it’s ok, no one will ostracise you for your homosexuality. Ver manly Robert Pattinson has nothing to do with it, though. BTW British guys have this metrosexual/dandy style and body language which is hot as hell, but only they can pull it off successfully. It must be because of the accent too.

  • XYZ

You should have think twice, thrice & many times before you leave this kind of message. You know you will be bombarded by Robstens & Robsessed alike. So fuck off !!!

  • kikay

Cowgirl go away! You’re one of the reason why Rob is feeling a little down in one of his interviews.I hope he doesn’t worry too much about these psychotic haters, because no matter what he does even if he wins oscar awards someday they’ll always have some negative to say about him, just ignore them Rob!If we chicks argue among ourselves regarding your choice of movies,it’s just because we want you to do better and stay in the biz for a long long time, you and Kristen. But i for one ,is very very proud of your new projects, way to go Rob!!

  • Patti

This pathetic Krisbian doesn’t realize that she is insulting Kristen indirectly… Kristen would give her the finger.

  • Anonymous

GC, why don’t you do some smileys to add them into comments? I need with the crooked one.

  • Stimme der Vernunft

‘The sex scenes look like more than just the tip were involved.’

    Huh?
Did I interpret that right, did you really imply that there is real intercourse, when a movie is shot? Or is it because of my language barrier and I misunderstood?
If it is in fact what I meant you stated, then this is ridiculous.

    ———-

  • jrt

Love him. Adele loves Rob like someone above said – she referred to him as a National Treasure. I am sure as friends it was all in fun and she didn’t take it seriously. Rob is just poking fun at himself. He is so funny!

  • kikay

    and her famous *eyeroll*!!lol!!

  • Lacy

This is what he told Premiere magazine, about the sex scene that goes on for over 2 minutes in the movie, where he’s grabbing her butt and pressing his face into her boobs, and then you see them come, you know the one:

RP: The one in the hotel .. We shot that one in one take. Patricia (McKenzie), the actress, was really at ease with her body. When we had to rehearse the scene, she almost took all her clothes off. I just stood there in my underwear, so embarrassed!

After the scene was done, I went to see the cameraman and asked him: “Is it me or what just happened was really intense? I almost felt like I really had sex!”

  • Voice of Reason

I’ve never seen a scene of Cosmopolis and I don’t intend to watch one. And before you begin to mock me: I’m not afraid of the sex scenes, I just don’t like the storyline.
But: From this statement you conclude that it was for real?
    This. Is. Utterly. Ridiculous.
    ———-
Absolut. Lächerlich.

  • Vanessa

Of course it was not for real, it’s a film, they pretended, it’s not porn. But unlike for BD where the director/producers wanted a tame sex scene (hence his remark “just the tip”), for this one the director wanted a more intense one.

  • Anonymous

i would like him to read this comment:D

  • Voice of Reason

    @ Vanessa

That’s exactly what I meant. But Lacey insinuated that it was for real (or I misunderstood it). So, who made the remark ‘just the tip’, because you said ‘his’ remark?
BTW: I think the sex scene in BD wasn’t so tame. But they couldn’t go too far because of the younger audience. Besides, I don’t watch a movie because of the sex scenes, I watch a movie because I like the story. Otherwise I would search for PWP, which, on occassion, I like too. :-)
    ———-
Genau das hab ich gemeint. Aber Lacey hat angedeuted, dass es echt war (oder ich hab es missverstanden). Also, wer hat die Bemerkung ‘just the tip’ gemacht, weil du gesagt hast ‘seine’ Bemerkung.

  • kikay

I know right!Rob was so disappointed in one of his interviews,he said thats all he thinks about before and after the movie he makes,if how the haters gonna concieved him in his role, thats why i’m so happy that he got this interrogator role in Blacklist,is that the title of it?Because now these haters will stop calling him manwhore ,they thinkwhat he play in the movie is what he is in person everytime they see him conversing or inside the car with another woman, they can’t tell the difference between his role and what he is in real life.I’m just really glad that he’s got these amazing new projects in line.and so as Kristen, and i hope they know that their fans are not children anymore and want nothing but the best for both of them.
