Busting bad dish!

Robert Pattinson: I’m NOT Joining The Hunger Games Sequel Catching Fire

Truth rating: 0

(GettyImages.com)

Robert Pattinson was caught off guard by at least one new casting rumor quickly spreading online.

A number of outlets have reported that the actor is in the mix to join Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games, in which he’d supposedly play Finnick Odair.

Pattinson cleared up that rumor on Saturday at the Cannes Film Festival, where he premiered Cosmopolis on Friday.

“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games,” Pattinson told USA Today. “I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent.”

He continued, “My agent was like, ‘No.’”

Pattinson laughed and said his agent told him, “No one’s going to offer you that part. I was like, ‘Thanks for the reassurance.’”

So there you have it.

The star of The Twilight Saga is not planning to leap to The Hunger Games series.

Oh, so people think he might be cast in it because its director was his director in Water for Elephants? I don’t want to see this movie; I think Rob would be great in others like Cosmopolis.

  • http://twitter.com/cuiteyluv ~ESSIE_PHOOH~

duh he has not even read the hunger games plus he is in cannes doing much better things

  • Satine

Robert needs to focus on adult oriented movies, no more young adult type fair. I am pleased with the projects he has lined up, as he stated in a recent interview with Premiere France, he grew a pair lets keep it that way. Although his movie Cosmopolis received mixed reviews which I knew it would, I am happy that he and the cast received a standing ovation for the movie and hope he continues to play in movies that are eclectic, because lets face it he is eclectic.

  • Regina1180

I think he would make a good Finnick, but I’m glad that he’s going to stay away from mega-franchises for a while.

  • JessMarie414

Well duh… Lionsgate has already said that there won’t be any Twilight-THG crossovers.

  • Nicole

Don’t start that “mixed reviews” BS. So far ALL the French critics loved it, giving it 4 out of 5 or 5 out of 5 stars, and that’s almost unheard of. Currently it has a 7.6 out of 10 score by the French critics, and that’s very good.

RT isn’t loading all the good reviews it has received, if they did it would be 5 negative and 15 positive. No film is going to get all good reviews, but Cosmopolis is getting a majority of good reviews, not mixed ones. And Rob’s performance is being highly acclaimed, and he’s in every minute of the film.

He was never in the running for THG, although he would have been great in the part and I can’t wait or him to work with Oscar nominated Jennifer Lawrence. He really shines when he’s opposite a great actress.

  • Insatnlf

Once he’s done Cosmopolis, there is – VERY FORTUNATELY – no way back for him, just confident fast steps forward. Cosmopolis is a unique kind of a movie, but his future projects seem interesting and mature. Done with teen franchises FOR GOOD i hope. Congratulations are in order, his performance in Cosmopolis has been praised even in negative reviews so far.

  • Chloe

I think Rob is a good actor and is still coming into his own. I love the THG but Rob would not make a good Finnick….Finnick was described as having a very strong muscular frame. Rob is on the skinny flabby side. If anyone from Twilight played Finnick it would have to be Kellen Lutz, he is not the best actor but, I think he could pull Finnick off perfectly…But, Loinsgate wants no cross overs from Twilight to the THG. But, I bet if Suzanne Collins stepped in they would change things.

  • Dnascarchick88

i knew he wasn’t going to be casted for this part… I Love Rob but he isnt our Finnick.

Ummm, you need a reality check. Cosmopolis is getting mixed reviews. Google it.

ROB IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL FOR UR CAREER regress AGAIN TO MAKE OTHER RELIEF AS HUNGER GAMES

  • Info

Sadly not everyone is loving Rob’s performance in Cosmopolis! The movie itself gets mixed reviews as well!
It’s no secret how much we love Robert Pattinson‘s acting skills, but unfortunately there are some movie critics that don’t agree! His movie Cosmopolis debuted today to mixed reviews at Cannes Film Festival.

Critics could not agree on whether they liked the David Cronenberg directed film about a wealthy man who travels around NYC for a day in a limo looking to get a haircut, and encountering a lot of life problems along the way. A few critics panned Rob’s performance, but as more reviews come out, a lot of critics are praising Rob for his “cool” performance of Eric Packer, even if they didn’t love the movie. Here’s a breakdown of the reviews:

    The Hollywood Reporter:

“After a strong run of films during the past decade, David Cronenberg blows a tire with Cosmopolis. [...] On the page and on film, Eric is a controlled and controlling figure, a man impervious to society’s norms who one must feel has a mind operating well beyond the capacities of mere mortals. He’s utterly humorless and without detectable compassion or accessible humanity, which makes him less than companionable as a character. Pattinson doesn’t help matters by revealing nothing behind the eyes and delivering nearly all his lines with the same rhythm and intonations, plus repetitive head nods in the bargain. It’s a tough character that perhaps a young Jeremy Irons could have made riveting, but Pattinson is too bland and monotonous to hold the interest.”

    The Huffington Post:

“Featuring an ensemble cast built on quick cameos, the film is anchored by a solid, ennui-filled performance by Robert Pattinson, shedding his Twilight skin for something more substantive and reminiscent of Christian Bale in American Pyscho. The challenge of compressing such dense literary concepts in filmic form is immense, and Cronenberg should definitely be applauded for his ambitious attempt at bringing these abstractions to life. Yet there is an undeniable stale and static quality to Cosmopolis that makes it feel like watching someone read a book. [...] Despite the interesting concepts, there is no escaping the lack of cinematic energy that keeps Cosmopolis from feeling like anything more than a perfunctory adaptation. Overall Grade: C+”

    The Playlist:

[Cosmopolis is] both an exceptional adaptation and a remarkable work unto itself. Eric Packer [is played by] a surprisingly adequate Robert Pattinson. [...] Everything matters in Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis,” but not everything is necessarily the same as DeLillo’s book. And that makes the film, as a series of discussions about inter-related money-minded contradictions, insanely rich and maddeningly complex. We can’t wait to rewatch it.”

    MSN:

“Interestingly enough, if you’re casting for a dead-eyed shark wreathed in unearned privilege, Pattinson turns out to be a pretty good choice. [...] The film’s cynicism is both majestic and well-earned; at one point, Eric notes “… nobody hates the rich … everybody thinks they’re ten seconds away from being rich.” A chilly, crisp and crystal-shard sharp satire of our money-crazed world, “Cosmopolis” takes us on a limo ride through the collapse of modern society: We’re not behind the wheel for this ride, but rest assured, in the end, we’re going to have to get out and pay for it. Rating: 4/5″

    Twitch:

“Give David Cronenberg credit for one thing: His choice to cast Robert Pattinson was an inspired and brilliant decision. While Cosmopolis is a bit too one-note to allow any proclamations about Pattinson’s range, his opaque, handsome, sometimes robot-like face compliments Cronenberg’s themes and styles perfectly. In terms of what the director seems to be aiming for here, his cold performance is nearly flawless. [...] Rather than a thriller, Cosmopolis plays more like a wispy film of ideas, with conversations in the limo about society, wealth and humanity dominating most of the screen time. Almost all of these feel detached and meticulously unfocused. [...]Leos Carax’s Holy Motors is much more fun, but Cronenberg has still made an odd, uncompromising and occasionally brilliant film of his own, one which is well worth seeing if only for the deft way the Cronenberg finds an emotional arc in such an inhuman world. Or else to see how perfectly Pattinson’s performance suits the director.”

    Time Out London:

“‘Cosmopolis’ is at its best when it’s otherworldly and aching with artifice. It’s at its worst when it becomes weighed down by an excessive, wearying wordiness, or when it steps out of the limo – the film’s self-imposed arena of surreality – and into a place more like the real world. ‘Cosmopolis’ threatens to soar and to be important, but it only offers flashes of lucidity; the limo is a mesmerising bubble that is quickly burst when the film steps outside it. That said, there’s a consistent air of charged, end-of-days menace running through the film, which Cronenberg handles with an unbroken sense of precision and confidence. He’s well-served, too, by a leering, disintegrating Pattinson, giving a commanding, sympathetic portrait of a man being consumed by his own vanity and power. 3/5″

    Empire Online:

“The stylised nature of the language will limit this film’s appeal, and its self-conscious craziness might also be testing to some (why does the professional barber Eric finally visits cut huge steps in his hair?). And after Water For Elephants it remains to be seen whether Pattinson’s teen following really is willing to follow him anywhere. But Cosmopolis does prove that he has the chops, and he parlays his cult persona beautifully into the spoiled, demanding Packer, a man so controlling and ruthless that only he has the power to ruin himself. Lean and spiky – with his clean white shirt he resembles a groomed Sid Vicious – Pattinson nails a difficult part almost perfectly, recalling those great words of advice from West Side Story: You wanna live in this crazy world? Play it cool.”

    The Guardian:

“David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, adapted by the director from the Don DeLillo novella, is stilted, self-important and dismayingly shallow, featuring an egg-laying cameo from Juliette Binoche, among others — although Paul Giamatti and Mathieu Amalric put some recognisable human life into theirs. As the star, Robert Pattinson’s face is set in an immobile semi-sneer of super-cool unshockability. [...] Well, you don’t go to a Cronenberg movie for comedy, but rather for something exciting, exotic, daring and precise: really, none of those things is present in this agonisingly self-conscious and meagre piece of work.”

At least we know his biggest fan Kristen Stewart is always around to support Rob, but hopefully the reviews will continue to get better for his movie!

    Too long, didn’t read.

  • Satine

Thank you Info, I don’t know where she is getting her information from, but it is certainly is mixed. Robert has improved and continues to grow and I applaud him for that and want him to continue to do these quirky and interesting roles in the future.

  • Info

It’s some of the reviews on Cosmopolis, and they are mixed. I am a big Rob fan and it irritates me when some of his fans make him look like an idiot because they come on these boards posting information that is not true. I’m proud of Rob and Kristen both. They have worked their asses off, and I love the fact that critics are finally seeing they are more than just Edward and Bella. Even the critics who were not crazy about Cosmopolis and OTR praised Rob and Kristen’s performances.

  • Lori1

Where’e Variety? There are so many more positive reviews. What are you talking about? Cosmopolis broke the record at Cannes for an 8 minute standing ovation. Who gives a rats tail what these critics think.

Also look at who you’re posting. Where’s Variety? Where’s all the other reviews. Picking and choosing is not being honest.

  • Voice of Reason

I din’t read the whole post of critics, but I love your sober perspective on the subject. Here are some people who are much too enthusiastic.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m delighted that both Kristen and Rob have these movies in Cannes and that they get good critics for their acting, but we have to stick to the truth. An the truth is that the critics for both movies are mixed. I think that is standard. Not everybody likes the books (I haven’t read both, but would watch at least On the Road, Cosmopolis seems not my cup of tea) and so, not everyone likes the movies.
“Geschmacksache”, sagte der Affe gesagt und biss in die Seife. – Und sie schmeckte ihm doch nicht.
(= “Matter of taste,” said the monkey and bit into the soap. – And in the end it didn’t taste good for him.)
It’s just a matter of opinion even from the reviewers.

  • kikay

I’m glad that he’s not gonna be in it,Rob is on his way to be a bigger and mature actor that i know he could be.Mix reviews be damn ,who cares,as long as the film is being talked about and getting reviews, good or bad publicity is always good publicity for the movie, good for Rob!! Anyhow, did ya’ll see how perky our little Kstews tits and ass on Robs Cosmopolis premier, the girl got some goods!!No wonder Robs acting all lovey dovey when he’s around her,he’s got the best perky girl in the world !!!Lucky guy!!!

  • Vanessa

Critics may be mixed, but some reviews were better for Rob than for the movie itself. And the positive reviews for Cosmopolis outnumber the negative ones. The 3 leading French newspapers (Le Monde, Libération, Le Figaro, plus others respected magazines like Les Cahiers du Cinéma, Télérama, Les Inrockuptibles gave the movie and Rob excellent reviews. I think French reviews are as important as American ones…

  • Vanessa

You probably don’t know that abs come and go. But height and face remain… Rob could get more muscled if he worked out. And he is not flabby. Anyway, he won’t regress and to this type of movie again.

  • Voice of Reason

    Like I said to Info:
I am delighted that they both (Robert and Kristen) get these good reviews for their acting abilities, when the movies get not so good reviews.
What I really don’t like, but what is quite usual with some of the posters here, is; the competition some make between Robert and Kristen.
Therefore I praised Info’s sober perspective. She doesn’t count the good and bad reviews of both movies, but states only that they are mixed and gives us evidence. I won’t count them either.
And I will not forge an opinion from reviews of critics.
When I said I would not watch Cosmopolis it was only due to the fact, that I’m not fond of such destructive behavioer, as Eric Packer seems to display. I decided this because of the little I know of the content of the book.
And for On the Road, there is only a minute chance, that I would watch it, because the content of this book, as far as I know about it, appears a little more interesting for me.
Yeah, maybe you can call me illiterate because of this, but I don’t care. I make my own choices, which books I read. And believe me I read a lot.
I like both Robert and Kristen, but if I don’t like the topic of a movie they make, I will not watch it. But I’m sure, as far as I can tell, since I’m not an expert regarding dramatic arts, the two are good actors.

  • Pam

Actually the rumor of Rob in THG started because of some THG fans, who made a sort of April fool on tumblr and then THG fans continued to complain about Rob not being perfect as Finnick “because Finnick is not a sparkly fairy”. That’s the kind of comments I read for almost 2 months and I was quite annoyed by it,because he may win an award in CANNES,so these prejudices from the most of THG fans annoyed me so much…so I’m very glad that Rob himself stopped this stupid rumor. Anyway he wants to be in something bigger than a teen franchise! He’s 26,he’s not anymore a teen star or something.

  • Chloe

Actually, I do know abs come ago I’m a personal trainer so I know about muscles structure and body types. Finnick’s entire body is muscular…. didn’t you see the recent pictures of Rob at the beach? He was flabby…only because he doesn’t work out. I’m a big fan of Rob so what I say is not met to speak ill of him. I adore Rob and I do want him to be successful and happy in whatever he does. We really don’t know if Rob would join another series…I think if it was something he believed in he would do it…I don’t look at THG as a teen movie it can be too violent at times. It is a movie for all ages and man like it as much as women. Therefore, I think Rob would take a part in this movie if it was something he thinks he could do and do well.

  • Vanessa

I wouldn’t say he is “flabby”. Plus he has lost weight since the beach pics. He is not defined, but he is not flabby. If Rob worked out he could get muscles.

  • Vanessa

Well, American critics are not the only critics in the world… French critics exist too. Cannes is in France, and the movie is released in France. Expand your horizons.

  • Vanessa

Forgot to say that Jacob in Twilight is 6’7 and in the movie he is 5’7… and he is not supposed to have zero charisma and a squishy face.

  • Satine

ITA with what you are saying. Why is it always a competition and why do people always seem to get off of the topic of what the post was actually about. As you, I am a fan of both Robert and Kristen. They both have done very good films in the past, and it is time to stop this bickering about who is best. It is like comparing wines, how do you compare a merlot with a pinot noir, you don’t, they each have their own flavor, and that goes for actors. There will be some you like and some you do not, but as a couple this pair has made some very interesting choices, and as you I don’t prefer all of them, but there are always films they do act in that I admire.

  • Satine

Excuse me Vanessa, I have been on many sites, US and international and they are mixed. I would not have stated what I did if I did not know this for fact and I was basing it on all reviews, not just reviews from the US. I have provided a link below, just so you can see for yourself. So get your head out of your posterior, and think before you type. The scorecard at Cannes, the International Critics gave it a Fair, basically, the only movie that would be rated Good to Excellent was Amour. Please expand your horizons, I certainly do not state something unless I am certain about it, and if I do make a mistake, I am the first to go back online and say I made a mistake. It has received mixed reviews from both US and International critics. That is all I am going to say, because this post was basically about Robert accepting another role in a franchise. I have nothing more to say on the subject.

totally agree, just a notation, the notes of the critics are not only French, are critical of several countries. currently has 7.43

American critics have never much admired Cronenberg, in my country is very dear and all his films are expected … and it’s not France ;)

  • laya

    8 minutes and a half ;)

  • Clover

I knew Robert wasn’t going to be FInnick, even if the part was offered to him. He talks time and time again about how he doesn’t want to do teen movies anymore, and wants to show the world that he portray something other than a vampire. The last thing he wants is to be in another teen movie. The Hunger Games is a movie for , in my opinion, fresh faces. People that want to be more known, even if its because of a teen movie. Robert is already very well known, he doesn’t need The Hunger Games. If he does take this role it’d be two steps back from being a “real” actor.

  • Ellen

Nicole is right about the international critics giving Cosmopolis very good reviews, not mixed. Here’s the break down, it’s #5 out of the 20 films in competition. That’s not mixed, that’s excellent. It’s sure better than the films in the bottom 5.

    1 “HOLY MOTORS(Leos Carax)”
    2 “IN ANOTHER COUNTRY(Hong Sangsoo)”
3 “LIKE SOMEONE IN LOVE(Abbas Kiarostami)”
    4 “MOONRISE KINGDOM(Wes Anderson)”
    5 “COSMOPOLIS(David Cronenberg)”
    6 “AMOUR (Michael Haneke)”
7 “YOU HAVE SEEN NOTHING YET(Alain Resnais)”
    8 “MUD (Jeff Nichols)”
9 “IN THE FOG (Sergei Loznitsa)”
    10 “BEYOND THE HILLS(Cristian Mungiu)”
    11 “PARADISE : Love(Ulrich Seidl)”
    12 “KILLING THEM SOFTLY(Andrew Dominik)”
    13 “REALITY(Matteo Garrone)”
    14 “POST TENEBRAS LUX(Carlos Reygadas)”
    15 “LAWLESS(John Hillcoat)”
16 “RUST AND BONE (Jacques Audiard)”
    17 “AFTER THE BATTLE(Yousry Nasrallah)”
    18 “THE ANGELS’ SHARE(Ken Loach)”
    19 “THE HUNT(Thomas Vinterberg)”
    20 “ON THE ROAD(Walter Salles)”
    21 “TASTE OF MONEY(Im Sangsoo)”
    22 “THE PAPERBOY(Lee Daniels)”

  • Fanny

Well you’re just getting your information from one source, and it’s out of date. And France’s 3 leading papers: Le Monde, Libération and Le Figaro gave it excellent reviews, and they are the toughest critics.

It’s also received good reviews from Empire Magazine, Aintitcoolnews, Filmoria, Hitfix, Indiewire Playlist, Press Play, the Telegraph, MSN, NPR, Variety and many others. Of course not everyone is going to like it, but the reviews are not what I would called “mixed,” they’re mostly positive. And even 2 and a half out of 4 is not bad. That would still count as Fresh on RT.

  • Arundle

Isn’t Finnick a swimmer? Rob has a swimmer’s build, which is why he’s not a bulky muscular type, like Taylor Lautner for example. Rob can work out, he can get abs if he wants to. His body type would be perfect for Finnick, and besides that, he can act, which is more important.

And I wouldn’t call him flabby anyway, he was taking time off, he can lose weight and look terrific in a few weeks, look at him now in Cannes. He looked lean and fine at the press conference and on the Le Grande Journal appearance, which is more than you can say for some of the people who got disinvited to that show.

  • Vanessa

Exactly, Rob can lose weight in 2 weeks. He was King of the red carpet at Cannes. LOL about those who were disinvited or who disinvited themselves…

  • Vanessa

To Satine. I don’t have my head up my arse! Thank you. On the whole, there were more positive reviews for Cosmopolis than negative, mostly in the French press. And I know what I am talking about, because I live in France where Cannes is and where the film has been released. You are obviously biased against Robert Pattinson.

  • Voice of Reason

I don’t think Satine is biased against Robert Pattinson. I think she sees things realistic. Not like some overly enthusiastic Rob fans. I think, like me, she’s not wearing rose-colored glasses , when it comes to Rob.
You haven’t to charge up the positive reviews against the negative ones, to show how much a fan you are of Robert Pattinson. And you don’t have to like every movie he makes, even if you’re a fan.

    And now, to get back to the topic;
I’m glad Robert Pattinson doesn’t join The Hunger Games. It took him a long time to get over his Twilight image and I say that despite I loved (and still love) The Twilight Saga. Enough is enough. There are now better roles for him.

  • Celiavagb

Every movie gets a standing ovation at Cannes rare are the ones who don’t . This is the first i am seeing people making a big deal out of it. Even paper boy got a standing ovation

  • Oreos

Maybe they all get standing ovations, but they stop after a minute or 2, you can watch the videos on youtube and see that. The ovation for Cosmopolis went on for over 8 minutes, the longest of any film shown there this year.

Don’t try to make that seem like nothing. It’s a big deal, and so is the fact that the movie is getting a majority of good reviews. And it’s doing well in the countries where it’s been released, it was the number 3 film in Italy, behind the Avengers and MIB3. Top 3 behind big budget films is a big deal, too. Rob was the King of Cannes, there wasn’t anyone else even close.

  • Luna

Satine started it by trying to diminish the good reception Cosmopolis is getting. Every film gets some bad reviews, but the Cosmopolis reviews are not what you would call mixed, they’re mostly positive. You don’t get a score of 7.5 out of 10 if you’re getting mixed reviews.

Some people aren’t really Rob fans, and they don’t want him to be the most successful, it makes them feel threatened. But the truth is, his film is the one that did very well at Cannes, got the better reviews, and he’s the one who’s popular, well-liked and well respected. These are facts, and people like Satine should just accept it and move on.

His star is the brightest, he’s making smart film choices, he didn’t choose money and fame by signing on to another teen franchise. He’s working with highly respected directors on intelligent projects, not mindless drivel that’s all special effects just for the money and to get attention. He’s already proven audiences will support his films outside of Twilight, both RM and WFE made a profit. Now he’s got critical acclaim and can work with who he wants.

  • Penny

He works out when he’s preparing for a role. Who wants to work out while they’re on vacation? Those surfing photos weren’t that long ago, and he looked fantastic at Cannes. So maybe he has been working out since those pics were taken, you have no idea. He’s getting ready for Mission Blacklist and he’s already getting in shape for that. “Flabby” my ass. Fortunately Rob has the kind of looks and personality that insure he doesn’t have to work out like a mindless drone to get people to admire him.

If you paid attention to his interviews you would know that he’s said he wouldn’t do another franchise and he can’t wait for BD to be over with. He just described it as being silly and weird. Contrast that to him saying having a movie at Cannes was his dream of a lifetime. He’s so moved on from that teen franchise crap. Too bad some of his co-stars are still selling out.

You can look at THG any way you want, but it’s a young adult novel, it’s rated PG-13, and there’s a ton more violent stuff on TV. If it were that violent it would be rated R, that’s what ratings are for. At least it has a stellar, Oscar nominated actress at it’s core, she’s a real star.

  • Voice of Reason

Like I already said: enthusiastic cubed. Stay a little more down to earth. No one says anything bad against Robert Pattinson. I (and surely Satine too) wish him success with all things he does. I’m just not as over the top excited, like some other here, over this Cannes movie of Rob.
It’s good for him to extricate himself from his sparkly-vampire-image (even if liked him as Edward Cullen) and I’m proud for him, but I see the not so good things too.
All the overzealous people here, who jump on everyone, who is not completely in agreement, need a bit more serenity.

  • Jane

I could not have said it better myself. Love Rob, but he is not Finnick.

  • gabi

because a lot of people do not understand the message this movie sends out..its different on many levels, like a lot of Dialog instead of sixpacks , shooting and faking …Rob is extremly good and I can not think of another young actor to have played Eric Packer

  • gala

you sound shallow, most regular guys look like him and I prefer his Body over a hard muscle dude who’s main focus is to impress ” himself”. I know a lot of Men who did Bodybuilding and were professional Athletes and suffer now from Joint Pain because they did to much. And not every Body needs to be muscular . Rob looks a lot like the Guys in my Yoga class, lean and slender..yummy…..and me ,as a woman who isn’t all that perfect it makes it so much easier to accept your little flaws if your guy isn’t in front of a mirror 24/7

  • aya

i dont know i can give link in here, but here is *http://www.spunk-ransom.com/2012/05/30/sticky-post-cosmopolis-media-and-fan-film-reviews-updated/*
there are bad review yes for cosmopolis but its not mixed, good review still way more

  • JessMarie414

Lol, so now doing a successful movie is considered selling out? Did you not read Rob’a recent interview where he said that he wanted to do a big film but he wasn’t considered right for the role. If the role was reversed and Kristen was only doing indies and Rob got a role in a blockbuster you nonnies would be screaming about how Kristen couldn’t get a big role. Stop contradicting yourself all the time. Or maybe just get a life.

  • JessMarie414

There you go again with your silly nonnie logic. Apparently supporting Kristen means that you aren’t a true Rob fan. Yes, he has made smart movie choices. So has Kristen. Taylor, not so much. Like Rob said, Kristen has done her fair share of indie movies. Choosing to do SWATH doesn’t mean she sold out. If you remember she also has an indie movie (which she is producing) in the works.

It’s funny how you can’t talk about Rob without trying to slip in snide comments about Kristen. Your obsession is showing through. Again.

  • Voice of Reason

    You’re so right, JessMarie414.
I hate it when they make these innuendos, these concealed jabs at Kristen.
We can love both, Robert and Kristen, and don’t need to provoke a competition between them and the movies they make.
Kristen said in an interview with the ZDF, that she wanted Rob to win and that they are proud of each other.
Rob also mentioned in an interview that Kristen is underestimated since Twilight and praised her.
They have no competition going, so why should the fans of them make one?

You’re probably too dumb to know the difference between signing on to do another teen franchise and doing a studio film. They aren’t the same things. Franchises, by their very definition are all about marketing and making money. That’s selling out. Studios often do big budget films that also have meaning, they aren’t just about selling posters and keychains.

Rob didn’t say he would do another teen franchise. Of course he would work with the studios, they often have some of the best scripts. He’s moved on to adult movies, maybe you should move on, too.
