Robert Pattinson and Caitlin Cronenberg Star in Latest Famous Mag Fiasco
Robert Pattinson‘s been a favorite subject for Famous magazine’s legendary fiction department for years. In the past, the tabloid claims the actor’s relationship with Kristen Stewart was on the rocks back in March 2010 and “over” in May 2010. Famous also once cited Stewart’s supposed “affair” with Taylor Lautner.
What we learn from all of this is pretty simple: Famous magazine has no clue and no shame when it comes to Robert Pattinson. Now the tabloid is polluting the newsstands and blogosphere with yet another wrong rumor about Pattinson.
This time, Famous wants readers to believe that he’s left Stewart for Caitlin Cronenberg, the daughter of his Cosmopolis director David Cronenberg. According to the mag cover, Caitlin Cronenberg “stole” Pattinson from Stewart. Wow! Sounds dramatic! There must be tons of evidence to make such an allegation! Except there’s NONE. The story itself is a farce of the highest order.
Cronenberg doesn’t even appear in the article’s text until the third page, at which point she’s introduced as someone with whom Pattinson is “reportedly flirting up a storm.” “She’s just his type – artistic, dark and a little moody. Not too different from Kristen,” explains a so-called “source” for Famous, so it was “no surprise they began spending a lot of time together.”
“While the two haven’t confirmed they’re dating, recent pics and tweets say it all,” declares the tabloid. What pics? Well, Cronenberg is a photographer, and she’s been taking shots on the Cosmopolis set, including a production still of Pattinson with his co-star Sarah Gadon. Paparazzi snapped images of Cronenberg and Pattinson having a laugh on set – along with other crew members. What tweets? “When support and love come from unexpected places it just makes it that much more special and important,” Famous quotes Cronenberg as writing. She also wrote, “I cannot even contain my excitement about the next shoot for [her project] The Endings! You guys are going to LOSE it!”
Um, how exactly do these vague, totally benign tweets reflect the photographer “stealing” Pattinson? Famous pins much of its (cough) “case” on the fact that Cronenberg is currently working on a photography project about break-ups. Apparently, that’s enough to accuse her of splitting up Stewart and Pattinson because it’d be, as a source explains, “great PR.” Even by Famous‘ low standards, this entire story stinks.
Here’s what we know. Cronenberg sounds like a perfectly professional, young woman who’s passionate about her career and has already established herself in the business. She’s not breaking up any couples for the sake of her book. Stewart and Pattinson, meanwhile, happily attended the MTV Movie Awards together and, we’re told, are still very much a couple. And the tabloid is once again caught fishing for scandal in an empty pond.
