Robert Pattinson Signs On To Brimstone, Set To Play Outlaw
Robert Pattinson is going to have a very busy spring and summer, having just signed on to star in the movie Brimstone. The actor plays an outlaw in the violent Western thriller, which also stars two of Pattinson’s previous collaborators, Guy Pearce and Mia Wasikowska, with whom he worked in The Rover and Maps to the Stars, respectively.
In Brimstone, Pearce plays an evil preacher in the 19th century, who is intent on hunting down Mia Wasikowska’s character, a young woman running away from her past. Production on the film is slated to begin in May, it was announced on Monday in Berlin. Also added to the cast is “Game of Thrones” star Carice van Houten. The movie was written and slated to be directed by Martin Koolhoven, best known for the Dutch movie Winter in Wartime.
While Brimstone will take up much of Pattinson’s spring, the actor is set to begin production on The Lost City of Z with Charlie Hunnam this summer. He currently has two movies competing at the Berlin Film Festival, the Anton Corbijn film Life and Werner Herzog’s Queen of the Desert, which stars Pattinson as T.E. Lawrence, the British Army officer, archaeologist, and writer best known as Lawrence of Arabia.
With all these movies in the works, rumors about Pattinson going broke have become even more absurd, as Gossip Cop previously reported. What do you think about Pattinson signing on to Brimstone?
