Robert Downey Jr. is no wizard

Numerous outlets have been speculating whether Robert Downey Jr. will star in a Disney-produced prequel to The Wizard of Oz.
According to reports, the film (based on the writings of “Oz” author L. Frank Baum) will focus on how the wizard came to rule over the Emerald City, with Downey slated to play the title role.
Rumors have it Downey would put a “dark” spin on the role in contrast to the bumbling character in the 1939 classic.
But the rumors are wrong.
Downey will not be following the yellow brick road.
After consulting with Downey’s agents, a rep for the actor says the casting claims are “not true.
