Robert Downey Jr. Storms Out Of Interview Over Personal Questions – WATCH VIDEO
Robert Downey Jr. walked out of an interview with UK’s Channel 4 News on Wednesday after Krishnan Guru-Murthy asked several personal and political questions that the actor felt were off-topic while promoting his new movie. See the video below.
Downey was answering questions about The Avengers: Age of Ultron when the interview veered into his past drug problems and prison time. Guru-Murphy began grilling the actor about a 2008 interview he gave the New York Times in which he said, “You can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal.”
Downey appeared to be thrown by being questioned whether he was still a liberal. Downey replied, “I could pick that apart for two hours and be no closer to the truth than giving you some half-arsed answer right now… I couldn’t even tell you what a liberal is.” The actor then began to look off-camera uncomfortably.
Sensing the tension, Guru-Murthy asked Downey whether he was okay with delving into his personal life. “You have as much time as anyone else has,” said Downey cooly. However, the interviewer then began to question Downey about his relationship with his father and drug abuse.
But that was enough for Downey, who said, “What are we doing?”He then quickly lept out of his seat, and walked out of the interview. Check out the video below of Downey, and tell us whether you think Guru-Murthy went too far?
