Robert Downey, Jr. Has Fun Getting Driver’s License Renewed at DMV (PHOTOS)
Robert Downey, Jr. got his driver’s license renewed in California on Tuesday and documented the experience. People noticed. “Gettin’ my renewal on at the Santa Monica DMV,” tweeted the Iron Man star. “Santa Monica DMV” was soon trending worldwide on Twitter.
Downey shared a few photos (see right and below) from the department of motor vehicles. It turns out superheroes and superstars still need to go through government bureaucracy in order to drive. Who knew?
Earlier in the day, Downey found himself on stage at the enormous Marvel Studios live event at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, where the company announced its so-called “phase 3” slate of movies in a rapidly expanding cinematic universe. Captain America: Civil War will hit theaters in May 2016. Doctor Strange is coming in November 2016, although no casting has been confirmed. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will premiere in May 2017, followed by Thor: Ragnarok in July 2017.
Black Panther, starring Chadwick Boseman, debuts in November 2017. Captain Marvel, not yet cast, will jump to the big screen in July 2018. Inhumans arrives in November 2018. And, perhaps biggest of all, Avengers: Infinity War Part I debuts in May 2018, followed by Avengers: Infinity War Part II in May 2019. Buy your tickets now.
