Robert De Niro: Donald Trump Is “Mutt” Who “Sullied The Presidency” (VIDEO)
Robert De Niro called Donald Trump a “mutt” who “sullied the presidency” during an interview broadcast on “Good Day New York” on Wednesday. Watch below.
De Niro’s interview was to promote the Tribeca Film Festival, but the actor was also asked about the current state of the presidency, particularly in light of Trump’s proposal to cut funding for the arts. Taking a deep breath and shaking his head, De Niro responded, “I can’t articulate it well enough other than to say it’s ridiculous. It’s idiotic. This is guy has sullied the presidency. He’s debased the presidency. It’s just beyond surreal what this guy has done.”
As Gossip Cop reported at the time, De Niro previously called Trump a “mutt” in a video released in October, in which De Niro said he wanted to punch Trump in the face. Asked if he stands by that description, the star responded, “He’s a mutt. Every word I said then I mean today. He has not changed.”
De Niro also ripped Trump on “The View” in February, but clarified that his comment about punching Trump in the face “was only a symbolic thing, anyway,” saying, “It’s not like I was going to find him… but he’s got to hear it, how he makes people feel.” Check out the new comments in the video below.
