Busting bad dish!

Robert Pattinson Smoking Electronic Cigarettes Because of Leonardo DiCaprio?

Truth rating: 0

(The Sun)

Robert Pattinson follows Leo’s lead,” reads the headline of a piece in The Sun, which goes on to explain that the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 star is now smoking “electronic” cigarettes after being “persuaded by Leonardo DiCaprio.”

According to the tabloid, Pattinson has recently been “puffing on the fake cigs” because his “idol Leo has been smoking them for years.”

And while Gossip Cop certainly commends Pattinson for weaning himself off of tobacco — he was spotted at the Elle Women in Hollywood gala smoking an electronic cigarette — these claims about him being best buds with DiCaprio, and following whatever the Titanic star says, are once again WRONG.

Most recently, there was an inaccurate report that DiCaprio and Pattinson were planning a “guys’ getaway” to Puerto Rico.

Regardless, a source close to DiCaprio says the latest tale is “BS.”

Once again, another Pattinson rumor goes up in (electronic) smoke.

Still, we praise Pattinson and anyone else who’s in the process of trying to quit cigarettes.

NO, that’s not Bear, just a random dog that someone on twitter thought was cute and put up because of the coloring and horse head. Sorry but it’s not bear, the person that put it up said so.

  • D. Martin

As I understand it, both Pattinson & Stewart have been trying to quit using e-cigs though I don’t understand the concept of the e-cig. Is it supposed to be like smoking but not? Is there actual smoke involved but no tobacco? Anyway I think they started trying to quit about the time of Cannes.

Maybe Rob can snag Erin Heatherton now that Leo is done with her.

Leo used to have reporters ask him about Rob all the time, esp. when Twi first made it big. It was kind of like, as a veteran, what advice would you give the newbie coming up? But the veterans don’t want newbies coming up, Gosling was just recently accepted into the club after a long long time.

Why would you wish Leo’s castaways on Rob?

  • Rose

While I consider this a non story to say the least, I smoked my entire adult life and smoke an e cig now. I only stop to mention it, because maybe it will encourage somebody else who has tried other methods to quit, and failed. Besides that I can smoke anywhere now. I say smoke, it is only vapors, but it feel and looks the same, it just doesn’t stink.

  • Curious

Never been a smoker so I ask out of sheer curiosity. Does the e-cig have any health effects?

  • mike2R

    Ask an ye shall receive:
    http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/infozone/new-user-electronic-cigarette-faq.html

In short a battery powered heating element that atomises a liquid containing nicotine into a vapour which is then inhaled. No combustion is involved, hence no smoke, but the vapour mimics it to a remarkable degree.

A rather strongly recommend that anyone who wants to quit smoking gives them a try. It is well worth researching before purchase, as disposables and starter kits with small batteries tend to be awful. Although there are some very good reports about the new Njoy Kings disposables which have recently gone on sale across the US.

  • KIm

Today must be try to make Rob look gay day. First Ken Baker with his had his arms around a guy friend. And now his “idol” Leo. What a bunch of crap. They have been trying to pair him up with Leo for a while now but it’s not working. On a different day he will turn back into Rob the womanizing man whore.

  • lolo
  • mike2R

Long term there isn’t the data, since they haven’t been around along enough for those sort of studies. Nothing has shown up so far. Since they don’t produce the smoke which contains all the elements of cigarette smoke which we know very well cause harm, it is safe to assume that they are much much safer than smoking.

Not much of a claim given how truly terrible cigarettes are for you, but the important one from the point of view of a smoker.

  • KIm

What… you know for a fact they have been saying Leo is gay for ages. Now they are trying to say Rob and him were going on vacations and he is Rob’s idol. This is never ending the back and forth bull that one day he is gay and the next they make him out to be a male slut.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001533680318 Suzanne Vorstenbosch

uhm…his idol?? I thought that was Jack Nicholson, if any….

  • Starbuck

I am struggling with the worst hangover. Ugh. This story is a little silly.

  • KIm

In the above article it says a tabloid said Leo was his idol. He’s not… I am not implying any of this is fact, all I was pointing out was that they give these hints in all these articles and some people actually believe them. Ken Baker didn’t have to say he had his arm around a male friend he only did that to insinuate something. I am probably not wording this right, but I get tired of all the dirty reporting going on and no one stops it.

  • Guest

Going back to Kristen’s article, everyone is over there.

  • Rose

The only thing they contain from a cigarette, is the nicotine. Mike is right…I don’t have long term evidence to recommend them, but I know I had a scary cough, which was embarrassing and I don’t have it now. Maybe it won’t be good in the long run, don’t know, but I feel sooooo much better, I figure I am way better off. Want to, google Kathleen heigel, David letterman, e cig. Funny video. She smokes one.

  • CC

They still contain nicotene which is harmfull, but they don’t have the tar and other harmfull stuff. You are supposed to buy the refills that have less and less nicotene to eventually quit.

  • GuestMeToo

….In other words, the rags are running out of things to say.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001533680318 Suzanne Vorstenbosch

No, agree with you there, it never stops and you know why? Because people keep reading it…they go and buy these mags and keep them in business…if it wasn’t for this site, I would never know what they write, I don’t go looking for it….but if more people were like me ( and maybe you) there would be no use for this site either…

  • Kim

You are right when asked who he admires he always says Jack Nicholson. He said he has seen One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest over 100 times.

  • Rose

There are 4,000 chemicals in a cigarette and 69 known carcinogens. I googled it for you. :P

  • CoheedCambria

Drink plenty of water….I hear that helps. LOL

  • Curious

    Greasy hamburger always helps mine.

  • guest38

Yeah that’s why I stopped buying all these rag mags about 3 yrs ago, because they are so full of BS it’s floating up to your eyeballs. And this article sure does prove that because there is nothing else to say Rob and Kristen are a happy couple and unfortunately in this day in time the only thing people are interested in is scandals, shady business, etc. the truth never sells because it’s to boring and as long as people buy this crap it will keep them in business and if you will notice there is atleast 8 or 9 different rag mags out there on the store shelves.

  • http://twilightirruption.blogspot.com/ abbeysbooks

The problem with e cigs is that they don’t address the addiction or the craving. They are just a come on to cash in on the no smoking bandwagon. There are only 2 ways I have ever seen work really well. One is David Carr’s approach in his book. He is from the UK and has been doing workshops for decades now. His way is excellent. Carr’s way is cognitive.

The other way is a behavior modification approach. This is the way I stopped and it works wonderfully. I have done workshops using it and it works very well. It handles the craving with a unique process of desensitization approach before quitting, so that during the preparation pre quitting time you are enabled to quit on quitting day without cravings. It is very easy to do. And it has a built in way to avoid substituting food for cigarettes to handle the problem of weight gain.

Quitting cold turkey is very macho, I know. It neither addresses the problem of addiction, craving or weight gain which is why it fails so often. It is THE MAN approach. “I did it myself, cold turkey!” Then you begin to put the weight on, dream about smoking cigarettes, long for one under stress, etc. Have a drink and you are in agony.

If anyone is interested I can post the program on my focusfree blog.

  • andreana

Starbuck, the best thing is phenegran… take it after you get home from a big night out ,, next day you will be good to go.. no problemo… i have used them for that purpose a few times

  • Starbuck

Cool. I will give it a shot next time.

  • mike2R

I honestly believe that this is the wrong approach. I’m not saying what you say is not correct. It is. If ending the dependency to nicotine is the goal, then your method is the correct one.

But the harm here is not dependency on nicotine, it is the terrible toll of lives taken by smoking. Ending nicotine dependency may be a nice aim, but the second you allow that to come before stopping smoking you are making a terrible mistake.

And sadly that is exactly what happens. Snus – a Swedish chewing tobacco – has reduced smoking related diseases to the lowest level in Sweden seen in any country ever where smoking cigarettes has become prevalent. Snus has been used for decades and there are excellent long term studies on its health effects. We know that it is around 1% as harmful as cigarette smoking.

Yet it is banned in most of the European Union. Not promoted. Not prescribed by doctors. Banned! A decision that has and is killing millions of people who do not need to diel. And a decision that is made by people who think they are doing the right thing.

If you have 25 minutes of your time for someone who knows the science of addiction extremely well, I strongly recommend this video by Fr. Jack Kearney:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lS_x3eXBbdE

  • Curious

Oh, what were you drinking last night? Hope it passes.

How about tobacco being the best anti depressant known to human kind? I was reading this in WFJ, pink paper. No doctor will recommend this to you but it is true, so they say.

  • http://twilightirruption.blogspot.com/ abbeysbooks

Chewing tobacco reduces the diseases of smoking tobacco. But gum infection that affects the teeth is a different result. Infected teeth lead to heart complications very easily and quickly as does chewing the inside of your mouth or lips or biting your tongue by mistake. It is nicer on your friends and family unless you want someone to kiss you or get close to you.

On addiction nothing has ever been written, said or thought that is not encompassed by David Foster Wallace’s long long novel – which itself is an addiction – titled* Infinite Jest*. His masterpiece and a masterpiece of the late 20th century. An enthralling way to wrap your head around addiction.

Don’t care. I want to know about Ruth’s top. Cute! Think you can get at shopbop?

We are talking about 3 weeks to quit so you won’t want to start again. Are you saying 1 day is the way it should be done?

  • buthcee

he is one of the producer and in the video it is a welcome hug . nothing more.b

  • mike2R

I really don’t think you can call the risks from complications arising from infected gums or accidentally biting your lip, comparable with a 99% reduction* in tobacco related cancers. It’s a no brainer.

I realise you are talking from your own experiences – as I am doing as someone who thinks his life was saved by electronic cigarettes (I was a hopelessly addicted smoker on 2 packs a day). But unfortunately there is an entire segment of those who call themselves public health professionals who are putting out junk science – misleading, misrepresented and even blatantly false data. And I’m afraid I think you are repeating some of it.

The health risks from snus (or even American dip) are laughable when compared to cigarettes. It would be incredible, given what we already know, if the same were not true for e-cigs. But due to the concerted efforts of those who are meant to be working for the public good, very few people actually know this.

  • mike2R

Sorry, I don’t get your meaning?

  • http://twilightirruption.blogspot.com/ abbeysbooks

Hey if you quit using e cigarettes good fer ya! Why keep paying for them when they are perhaps sufficient but not necessary? Necessary and sufficient conditions ya kno.

  • mike2R

Thanks! (I still can hardly believe it to be honest, I’d pretty much accepted the fact it was going to kill me)

Maybe I will, but for the moment just staying off the death sticks will do me. Just as long as e-cigs don’t get banned! (they already are in some countries, including Canada) I strongly suspect I’d end up smoking again although I would definitely try snus first (living in Britain I’d have to buy it illegally though since it is already banned here)

The world makes little sense sometimes.

  • http://twilightirruption.blogspot.com/ abbeysbooks

What part of effective quitting without e cigarettes is confusing to you?

  • http://twilightirruption.blogspot.com/ abbeysbooks

If you don’t know the complications from chewing tobacco then I suggest you consult a medical profession – heart specialist, dentist – and find out.

  • http://twilightirruption.blogspot.com/ abbeysbooks

I’m happy to post the program. Just ask. Or if you prefer the cognitive approach just read Carr’s book. One night should do it for you. He demolishes all your rationalizations for smoking.

  • OHk

    Suuuuuuuuure you’re not….

  • mike2R

I appreciate the offer, but for the moment moving to a safer form of my addiction is enough for me. More than I thought would be possible a couple of months ago.

I wasn’t even intending to quit when I got an e-cig – I just thought it might help me space out my smoking a bit. I smoked two cigarettes the first day, one the second, and about 4 or 5 in the 6 weeks since then. This is the real bloody miracle of the things – they aren’t just for the person who is committed to quitting. From talking to other people who have taken it up, I know I’m not the only person who managed to quit (switch would be more accurate) basically accidentally.

  • knorr

There’s a few pics of that guy elsewhere, that’s some handsy full body press welcome hug in other pics, ick, poor Kristen. Too bad there are no good pics of Rob. Amy Adams looks really adorable. Garrett kind of looks like a funeral director.

  • mike2R

Sorry… I don’t understand where the 3 weeks and 1 day came from.

  • guest

    yes, she was beautiful!

  • Rose

All I know is I don’t smoke and I am satisfied with the e cigs. After 40 years of smoking and trying various new gimmicks (chantrex almost killed me) I am happy. Of course in this judgmental world, some will say I did it wrong or their way is better. I figure later I will try an e cig without nicotine, but for me, I am very much glad to be using them.

  • Worship HIM!

And The Krisbians bother you why? They do not worship the Idol too often? I thought the schedule was once every 30 minutes on your knees and bow your head, no?

  • http://twilightirruption.blogspot.com/ abbeysbooks

Carr’s approach through his book will take you one reading of it. You can read it as fast or slow as you like. He is excellent and it works. His is a cognitive approach.

The Behavioral Method is an adaptation by me. I trained with the father of Behavior Therapy, Joseph Wolpe, M. D. so my credentials are impeccable if yo are authority conscious.

It takes 3 weeks of prep before you quit. After Quit Day there are 3 weeks of easing off the aids (lozenges, cough drops etc.)You Quit Day will be stress free and surprisingly easy. You will feel elated but not overly euphoric, just calm and in control of your life again. When you reach for your e cigarette or your chewing tobacco you are still a victim of your addiction. If that’s ok with you then stay with your solution. I am not here to argue with you, sell you something, or whatever. I don’t want anything from you. Now do you understand?

  • Guest

Rob boards are Kristen boards and Kristen boards are Rob boards they have been like that since Twi started. Are you new here? Just asking lol

  • Guest1

Cedric is not new here. Just a nonsten who despises Kristen.

  • mike2R

I’m with you, believe me. I was approaching 40 and smoking around 2 packs a day… Those things are a miracle.

  • Guest

Well to bad for her Rob adores Kristen

  • Jella

That is true. And I love that!

  • mike2R

    Got you, thanks.

And I didn’t mean to question your motives. What you offer is the ideal solution, I just don’t think it will work for everyone. The various harm reduction strategies can – if they can get me to stop inhaling carcinogens they can work for anyone!

  • http://twilightirruption.blogspot.com/ abbeysbooks

Carr’s reply to this would be: If you taper off even to 1 cigarette a day, THAT CIGARETTE BECOMES VERY VERY IMPORTANT. It is granted an importance far beyond any cigarette when you used to smoke a lot of them. You look forward to it, long for it, focus on it. If that’s OK with you, I have no problem with that. I don’t know how the weight problem is handled with e cigarettes. I know nothing about that. I do know that your attachment to cigarettes will continue intact.

If you have ever gone to or worked with a client going to AA you will appreciate what I just said even more so. AA has probably the best program for alcohol addiction that there is. Wallace’s novel has 150 pages of footnotes on AA meetings. There are the issues of people, places and things. The issue of sex during the initial time of your sobriety. AA is structured to enable a support group for you and a mentor who will always be available to you during your beginning sobriety until you master your addiction and in turn become a mentor for someone who is just beginning. This inverse or role reversal is crucial and your acknowledgement that you are an alcoholic not matter how many years and decades you have of sobriety. You are and always will be an alcoholic. That is off the table for discussion.

  • pretzeled

What I think is funny is since Twilight became such a hit, Ted C and E! were on Rob’s azz 24 7 trying to catch him in a ho or a bro moment and after all these years they are coming up empty, but I’m starting some side eye some things that are being caught in candids instead, lol. I think they are starting to get desperate to find something bad on him instead of who they are accidentally finding it on.

  • LizCarib

The only thing good about this non story is that Robert is really trying to kick the smoking habit. I say good for him, whatever it takes to keep this gorgeous man healthy for years to come. Huge fan hug to you Rob.

  • mike2R

No disagreement there. The e-cig does not wean me from either the nicotine or the psychological components of my addiction. It is essentially a way to keep smoking without smoking.

Maybe Rob will be able to get tips from Harry Styles on how to pick up women. One Direction are appearing on Ellen the same day.

  • mike2R

“Then why are they being banned?” – now that is a very good question.

The phrase sometimes used is ANTZ Anti Nicotine Tobacco Zealots. A breakdown of the categories can be found here:
    http://antithrlies.com/about/

I realise you’ll probably dismiss me as a conspiracy theorist, but take a look at the snus issue. It has been used for decades, the data on its effectiveness in getting smokers to switch to it, and massive advantage in relative safety are excellently documented. All that data is freely available. Yet it is banned.

There are not many charitable interpretations that can be made of a certain section of the public health community.

  • Chill , will you?

Why? Such a beautiful dress and Stella is such a talented woman. More power to women! You do not have to click on her posts, they will jump into your eyes, js.

  • http://twilightirruption.blogspot.com/ abbeysbooks

Oh. Just extremists with an agenda. But how can they get e cigarettes banned? The tobacco industry probably owns those companies also. Actually home grown organic tobacco is not offensive. I understand it is milder. Been too long since I quit so I can’t say anything about this part of it.

They have the ear of governments and other bodies is about it. The WHO recently encouraged countries to ban e-cigs because they worked against their efforts at “denormalising smoking”. The mind truly boggles.

Qatar banned them on that basis. Canada banned them because they can’t prove that they are safe… Studies by the FDA in the States have headlined findings of trace contaminants without drawing attention to the levels they were found in. In one case they found similar levels of a carcinogen in an e-cig that they did in in a nicotine replacement therapy produced by a pharmaceutical company (in both cases insignificant). No prizes for guessing which one they drew attention to. Studies that find certain acute effects with no indication that they cause long term health implications, appear in the press as “Electronic cigarettes cause lung damage.”

Big tobacco is probably the only hope to keep these things legal. Blu got taken over by a tobacco company recently, and as I understand it others are moving in.

Strange how these things work out isn’t it. After all these years of smoking I want nothing less than to give my money to them, and I’m left hoping that they move into the market simply to protect me from the deeply misguided efforts of people who are largely paid out of taxation to protect public health.

  • Rose

hi five. It’s a joy. I really enjoy being up front about smoking them when I am out and about, so people can see it in action. All I know is I feel better, no wheezing, no hacking cough. No stink. I know I sound like a commercial, but I’d lost all hope in myself for quitting.

  • mike2R

You sound like a commercial? :) Have you seen my discussion below with abbeysbooks? I’ve somehow become a one-man campaign team!

Not that I disagree that quitting altogether isn’t the best option, but for those of us who can’t or won’t quit, these things are a life saver.

just curious.. is an e-cig a better alternative?

Well if you understood the Foucauldian Grid then you would know exactly. You are close but you are like all of us who think it just applies to your particular area of interest when it is total. The Grid is: power/knowledge/capital. Now where in the interstice can you apply force to break it? I would suggest you begin teaching a program to stop smoking completely but you will have to do it to teach it. I have been thinking of going back to doing it recently. I am wondering how much to charge for 6 weeks, meeting once a week. What would you suggest?

All I know is I am happy with my e cig. There are a variety of ‘cures’ or supplements or psychological tools that work for many people and the best thing todo is never start to begin with, but for me, I am glad that I discovered this alternative. I had been considering going the snus route but realized that for me the cigarette, oral fixation, was probably more addictive than the nicotine itself.

People are always interested in making a religion out of themselves. I’m not.

Mike, you sound like an interesting guy, do you blog anywhere?
Abbey you sound like you’ve found a rewarding venture. Good luck with that and viva le smoke out no matter how you do it.

And, while I am no fan of Walmart, they sell them there and at walgreens.

Very curious about the BD2 ending being different from the book ….has any one heard some rumours or inside info about the change ? would really like a hint of what the change is …would love to know …???

  • apsara

oh i hope not , Rob does not need hook up with Leo’s cast offs . am sure he will find many more appealing options .

  • Rose

I completely changed over to them. I’d like to say cold turkey, but it wouldn’t sound true, since in a way I am still smoking, only technically, vaping.

It’s lovely when you find out you have no desire. That nothing in your life triggers the impulse to smoke. That’s when you are home free. Later, much later, comes not being able to stand, tolerate being around it.

There is a behavioral theory that you become addicted to what you are allergic to. In my case that is very true. As a child I was allergic to cigarette smoke and so my smoking was a way to handle that as I couldn’t escape it. If you can’t beat them, join them! Now I am violently allergic again. I can’t imagine at this time ever being able to have smoked at all.

  • apsara

wonderful opportunity to talk about Rob in peace !!!

  • Rose

Lol, so I see. Does ‘he’ have stock in the company?

  • Anon

Why are you old grannies attacking Amy. Your girl lets old men nibble her cooter.

  • Ballpark

A lot of woman hate A man who kisses their ass. Here’s hoping Roberts balls continue to grow. Hers are still a bit bigger than his but he doesn’t seem to fawn as much in the open now.

  • Jazz

I heard about how the big fight ends up a while ago. But don’t know if it’s true. Some of the fight scenes shown suggest that its true. However i think It’s better to just wait a couple of weeks to see for yourself.

  • Nat

Those tabloids just can’t let him go. He gets lied about in their every inspite of the fact that he is one of the Hollywood most decent leading man.

  • azeline

they’re being extremely hateful disrespectful to Rob. even after all that happened in July. Rob still the bad guy and he just can’t never win with these people. That’s why i lost interest in R/K. I mean what kristen did was very bad. I can understand some Rob fans reactions.(not agree with the extreme hate obv.) kristen fans would do the same if Rob had cheated. i mean when rob stood next to another girl, they go crazy, god knows what would be happen. *shudders* BUT Rob did nothing wrong. He proved how much he loves her. didn’t care the crazy public/fan backlash (he’s being called pussy, loser, doormat) but her psycho fans still hating on him. shipping him with Garrett H. and now Ben Lyons. *eyeroll* I’m sick of the shit rob’s getting. and He gets is from BOTH sides. Don’t act like nonstens are rob fans when they’re bashing badly whenever he does something they don’t like.

  • azeline

if it was Rob in that picture and another girl fandom would go crazy. SMH I’m so sick of the double standards here. I feel bad for the Rob. This is so unfair.

  • Anjali

I love them both, whether together or not, (their personal life/choices, are not my business. Is there a name for me? I actually hate the titles people are being given, & refuse to be pidgeon-holed, nor get into a petty agressive fight. If anything I would like to be classed as a decent human being, a ‘Non-hater’? I don’t think I’m the only one in that category. :-)

  • Anjali

Friend of Leo’s are you :-) Can you tell him I love his films, almost as much as I love Rob’s & Kristens? Cheers ;-)

  • Anjali

Gossip Cop, can’t you do anything to resolve the glitches with your comments boards?

  • lillicat

Do you elieve that accupunture could work? I have never smoked, but everyone in my family has smoked except for 4 of us.

  • apsara

thnx for answering !! just a few days now hard to keep patience !!

  • Anon

That’s because they are done. This is all about friendship now. Nothing romantic between them any more. He won’t say a word against Kristen ever.

  • Me

You’re not the only one Anjali. I am also a fan of both. I have never spoken badly of either of them. I love them together, and I would love them separate if that was their decision. People need to just butt out of their private lives. We have no right to pass judgements on them, their lives, nor their choices. The only thing we have a right to criticize is their acting, and then, only if we paid for a ticket to watch their movie.

  • Me

Why? Is someone forcing you to open the links to view them? Skip over them if you don’t want to see them. I happen to think that Kristen looked stunning. She is a beautiful girl. Rob is such a lucky man to have her in his life, and she is lucky that he decided to give her a second chance. They are happy…….so let them be happy!

  • Me

I have not seen anyone attacking Amy. In my opinion, attacking someone is saying something vile or nasty, spreading nasty rumors, and flat out lying. Kim said that she looked plain and boring compared to Kristen, that is her opinion. If your opinion is different then so be it, but what you stated as a reply to Kim is attacking Kristen. Your remark is vile and disgusting and you have no proof. If you are saying that the pictures prove it, then you are in need of new glasses. No clothes were removed during that encounter, and his head wasn’t low enough to do what you say he did.

  • mary mary

?? why debunk this?? It seems to me trivial bs.

    is anyone here????

Maybe he is smoking e-cigs to feel better! According to a recent review 90% of electronic cigarette users actually feel better and their families and friends support the switch!

I am so happy that Rob is trying to quit smoking…He is so young….and smoking leads to early aging…so our boy is going to stay young for a long time period…:)

Acupuncture works for a lot of things but I don’t know anything about its work with addictions. I have heard it does. But the 2 I mentioned realy do work and they are very easy.

I absolutely recommend Ecigs for anyone who is trying to cut down or quit or is just looking for a healthier alternative. My husband (a two + pack a day man) converted two years ago. He has gradually cut his usage down to the equivalent of a couple cigs a day or less – without even consciously trying to reduce. He was just looking for a healthier alternative to regular cigarettes. Now he often forgets to even take it with him.
For anyone who hasn’t tried them, they have the same back-of-the-throat “hit” which seems to be so important to smokers for fullfillment, plus you get the nicotine, but none of the carcinogens and other nasties. The other things my husband likes about it is you can “smoke” anywhere, anytime because it’s only vapor and he can “smoke” in the house. Oh, and it is cheap. Only a fraction of what he was paying for nasty cigarettes.
I love that he doesn’t have smoker breath and his clothes don’t smell and our baby son doesn’t get exposed in anyway.

  • lillicat

All those in my family who smoked have died of smoking related diseases. My father had heart disease in his family, but smoking 2-3 packs/day certainly did not help. I think you should teach this course. It must be very addictive. My brother-in-law is close to 80, ad smokes so much my niece had to install a vent-a-hood (like used in a paint booth) in his room.

  • kjl

Good luck to ANYONE that quits. Nasty habit—-from a former tobaccoholic..

Ballpark’s comment is so sexist in so many ways it’s hard to know where to start. To use the term “balls” to describe Kristen’s spirit and confidence is to say that those are masculine qualities, abnormal in a girl. To describe Rob’s obvious affection for her as “lack of balls” is saying that love is a female emotion, abnormal in a man–and denying men the right to experience life’s greatest joy. When you say, “A lot of women hate a man who kisses their ass”, are speaking from experience? Ever consider that it wasn’t the ass-kissing the girls didn’t like, it was YOU? Anyhow, why are you projecting this onto Kristen? Where on earth do you get the idea she hates him? Have you spent the past six months on Mars?

  • guest

His head was no lower than her collarbone. And to do what you accuse, in the front seat of a Minicooper, with Kristen sitting behind the wheel, he’d have to have been a four-foot tall Chinese acrobat. He’s six foot five.

  • guest

You guys have declared them done twice a week, ever since 2009. Yawn!

One crucial reason for an actor to quit smoking is the aging affect of nicotine on the skin. It shrinks blood vessels everywhere in the body and deprives the tissues of oxygen, and nutrients. One effect is to cause wrinkles. Another is to shrink the gums, effecting the health of the teeth. So you don’t want the e cigs to be the end, but a step to quitting altogether. Anyhow, it’s great to know they’re both thinking about their health and doing this together.

A much better anti-depressant–wait for it–botox! Read a couple of articals lately about a study where depressed people were given botox injections so they couldn’t frown, and it improved thier symptoms, on average, by more than fifty per-cent–a better cure rate than most anti-depressants. Apparently, there’s a feedback loop–you feel bad, you frown, your clenched frown muscles tell your brain you feel bad, so you feel worse, etc. I believe it. I’ve been getting the frown muscles disabled surgically for decades (laparoscopy—a tiny scar behind the hairline–procedure has to be repeated every six to eight years) and I think it helped tremendously to get through a long, painful illness without going under, psychologically–and, of course, without ending up looking like a witch, which is cheering, in itself. .

Really glad that even the biggest stars in the world admit they have a problem and the help of this new technology to finally be smoke free. Well done Robert

  • http://www.ecigarettebuy.co.uk/ buy e cigarette

Smoking Everywhere E Cigarettes offers smokers many features over smoking traditional cigarettes. The product is free of tar & other chemical substances which is produced in traditional cigarettes. It is a non-flammable product (It does contain a lithium battery which carries certain explosion risks if ignited) and it lacks the second-hand smoke that accompanies traditional cigarettes. There is NO danger of second hand smoke and it is reusable (rechargeable by an electric outlet or car charger) so there is no problem with disposing of cigarette buds or ashes.
