Rob Lowe isn’t in talks to play Caitlyn Jenner in a movie adaptation of her new memoir, The Secrets of My Life, despite a bogus report from one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop can exclusively set the record straight.

An article in the latest issue of OK! claims the actor is eager to play the Olympian turned transgender reality star in a film about her life. A supposed “source” tells the magazine, “Rob’s been hunting for an awards-caliber movie part. This would be a game-changer for him.”

The tabloid’s dubious insider further contends that Jenner sent the actor a copy of her book, “and they’ve met up a few times to discuss it.” The “source” adds, “She thinks he’s got what it takes to play both her and her former self, Bruce, and now Rob’s throwing his weight behind the project as well.”

Unfortunately, those intrigued by the prospect of Lowe portraying Jenner on film shouldn’t get their hopes up. A rep for the actor exclusively tells Gossip Cop he hasn’t met with the reality star to discuss a potential biopic, and the magazine’s entire report is simply “not true.” In fact, this story seems to have been concocted simply because Jenner said in a recent interview that Lowe would be a good choice to play her in a hypothetical film, but that notion hasn’t carried over into real life. Unfortunately, we’ve had to correct many false tabloid reports about both stars, so this latest fabrication isn’t surprising.

Gossip Cop recently busted OK! for wrongly reporting that Jenner was running for the California State Senate. We also previously called out the outlet’s sister publication, Star, for making up a story about Lowe being scared of the fake blood used during the filming of his medical drama, “Code Black.” This latest article about a supposed Jenner biopic starring Lowe is equally bogus.
