CLAIM: Rihanna “Angers” SNL Producers By Missing Dress Rehearsal

“Rihanna Angers ‘Saturday Night Live’ Producers by Missing Dress Rehearsal,” blares a headline from the usually reliable TMZ.

According to the site, Rihanna “was a no-show for her final rehearsal for ‘Saturday Night Live’ last night — which did not sit well with the show’s producers, including head man Lorne Michaels.”

TMZ says, “RiRi called in sick for the dress rehearsal, which is done live in front of a studio audience right before the actual show,” and that Michaels “takes dress rehearsals very seriously and was quite upset when Rihanna bailed at the last minute.”

But when the singer “showed up later looking just fine, we’re told the staff was shocked,” writes the site, adding that “SNL” bigwigs “felt she didn’t appear sick enough to have missed the dress rehearsal.”

What’s more, notes TMZ, “Once the live show got going, Rihanna was seen eating an apple and walking around in between songs… which bothered several staffers because she did not seem ill at all.”

So, was Rihanna lying in order to get out of performing during the dress rehearsal?

NO.

A longtime “SNL” insider tells Gossip Cop that the TMZ report is “not true,” and swears, “Rihanna wasn’t feeling well and saved her voice for the live show.”

“No one at the show was upset,” assures our source who has absolutely no reason to cover for Rihanna.

    My gut is GC knows better than TMZ on this because the site was cofounded by an NBC producer and Dan Abrams, who was NBC’s legal guy.

    My advice to Lorne? Lorne, you should know by now the power of celebrity pop-stars. If Riri’s absence bothered you so much then I’d advise you invest in musical holograms for future purposes. I hear everyone is doing it.

    I’m guessing holograms don’t get sick, probably don’t require a dressing room filled with fancy water/candy/groupies, and they attend rehearsals promptly without tude.

    So get on that, and while you’re at it, cut some slack for Riri. She’s a gift to this planet, and her health is more important than your silly show.

    You’re probably right, but when GC sites an anonymous source it makes them look as credible as any other gossip site. But I doubt anyone was that upset when that happened.

    haha! are you serious?! “Riri is a gift to this planet”?! haha she is a studio singer just like the rest of these teenie boppers and none of them, including “Riri” can sing a solid, on key, note live. face it. you all idolize a lie! hahah she’s is a pretty face and a banging body. be honest most of the people who love her could careless if she ever opened her mouth again as long as they can still try to look at her and copy her style. Everyone song sounds EXACTLY the same!!!!!!!
