Rihanna to Oprah on Chris Brown: “It Was Embarrassing… I Lost My Best Friend”

Oprah Winfrey sits down with Rihanna in her native Barbados for an emotional, wide-ranging interview set to air on an upcoming “Oprah’s Next Chapter.”

And, yes, she talks about Chris Brown.

“It was embarrassing. It was humiliating. I lost my best friend,” Rihanna tells Oprah through tears at one point, although the context for the singer’s remarks are not entirely clear in the preview.

Rihanna adds, “I was resentful. I held a grudge. I was dark.”

In an extended preview, the host says she was surprised by her visit with Rihanna, assuming the singer would be “kind of a badass… hard-edged rocker pop woman.”

“Nothing could have been farther from the truth,” says Oprah, calling Rihanna “thoughtful… very emotional… [and] vulnerable.”

The full special airs on August 19.

    Some people heal differently, but in all honesty, we will never ever know the truth of why it got to point to where it did. Do I feel Rhianna, need some help? Yes. Do I also feel she is acting out , es. This beautiful young just lost one of her best friends in the world, No not Chris Brown, but here grandmother. Her grandmother was her biggest support system outside of her parents. I feel she is acting due ttoo passing of her grandmother more so than what happened with Chris Brown. This happened three years ago. But in order to love your self any way shape or form you have to heal, and forgive. You may never ever forget. But you have to forgive.

    well some people have greater capacity & appetite for hate than others.

    Sorry if Rihanna isn’t leaving up to you standards but it seems she’d rather be free from negative emotions than to hold on to it and nurture it daily.

    I am just waiting for the 1st interview that will reveal the actual truth of events leading up to the incident NOT just eventualities.
