Rihanna In Nice During Terrorist Attack, Concert Canceled
Rihanna was in Nice during Thursday’s terrorist attack. While the singer was thankfully unharmed, more than 70 people were killed when a truck was driven into a crowd celebrating Bastille Day.
Rihanna was in France for her “Anti World Tour.” According to the tour’s schedule, she was slated to perform in Nice on Friday at the Allianz Riviera venue. But now the concert has reportedly been canceled in the wake of the tragedy.
In French, the president of Nice tweeted, “Tomorrow the flags of the city will be at half-mast. Following the cancellation of the Rihanna concert, the jazz festival is [also] canceled.” One report claims the songstress’ camp is currently attempting to get her out of the city. Gossip Cop has reached out to a rep for comment.
The star has not updated her social media pages since the attack. But while she hasn’t spoken out, many other stars have. As Gossip Cop reported, dozens of celebrities have taken to Twitter and Instagram to express condolences and offer prayers.
Justin Timberlake, for instance, posted the trending hashtag, “#PrayForNice,” while Olivia Wilde wrote, “This is all too heartbreaking.” Christina Milian also revealed she had family in the city at the time of the attack, but they are fortunately safe and uninjured.
