Rihanna Defends Chris Brown Remix, Says She’s “Afraid” of Falling in Love Again

Nearly five months after releasing a surprising collaboration with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, Rihanna is explaining her decision, admitting she wanted to work with someone “shocking.”

And shock she did, drawing the ire of some of her fiercest supporters who didn’t understand why the pop star would want to work with someone who abused her in the past.

“I understood that people had every right to be concerned about it. But I didn’t see it that way because I’m in a different place,” she says in the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar.

Rihanna, who says her love life is currently “nonexistent,” reveals she’s afraid of falling in love, and hints it may be because of the messy and tragic way her romance with Brown ended in 2009.

“When I was in love, I fell so hard. I was really, really, really in love. The way it made me feel was priceless,” she recalls.

The singer continues, “And in a blink of an eye my whole life changed. Everything that I knew was different. I never thought I’d feel that pain in my life. I’m afraid of feeling that again.”

    I think she is making right decisions and ppl are not letting her live her life without always having an opinion about her choices in life. She is not perfect and she is our sister in christ. We should let her make mistakes so she can learn and go on in life. Life is too short to hold grudges or any other kind of negative feelings towards rihanna or chris brown. It is not our job to judge but to keep our own heads above water in the life we ourselves are living.

    Your statement should read “Women today are causing women that are not…” For more accuracy, it should read, “Some women… are causing some women…” Some women don’t think situations out but, the same can be said of some men. Rihanna was very young when that incident happened between her and CB and, she is still young so she may not think along the lines of someone who is say 30 – 40… 25 even.

    Rihanna may still have feelings for CB. After all, it was the media and her fans who caused her to break up with him; right after the incident, she was seen on jet skies with him and doing other activities and they were having a good time. People really need to read the police report to know what really happen because it wasn’t what the media made it. People saw the pictures and most came to their own conclusions.

    She was slapping and punching him, by her own admission, while he was driving after a call came in from another woman and he wouldn’t give her the phone. She (Rihanna) pulled the steering wheel which caused him to back end a parked car. That is what gave her the bump on her head and the black eyes. She continued to fight her once they got out of the car and he (Chris) slapped her in the mouth and bit her when dung her finger nails into his skin, then left her alone where the incident took place. She walked to her hotel room (she said) and the next day, she went to the police. They both were wrong however, he takes the full blunt of it because, he is the man.

    This doesn’t mean that she is “thinking challenged” – it just means she was “in-love” with someone she had invested a lot of time, emotion and energy in and when the call from the other woman came in, she acted out of anger instead of finding out what was going on between the caller and Chris. There are many couples who have been in a situation like that -some with the violence and some without. Their lives are no different than any one else’s. They are just living their lives in the lenses/eyes of the media’s cameras and public to view and judge.
