An Instagram user who claimed Rihanna told him he was going to hell because he’s gay now says he made up the entire thing.

On Thursday night, an Instagram user by the name of Benvoy Seals posted a picture of a comment he made on one of the singer’s birthday celebration photos, along with Rihanna’s alleged response.

The screenshot shows Benvoy’s comment, saying, “Rihanna u going to hell girl,” and Rihanna’s purported reply, which reads, “Arnt you gay?… Nuff said blah!”

But now Benvoy says he completely faked Rihanna’s response.

On Friday, he deleted the shot and posted a new photo that reads, “The picture is a fake. Rihanna would never say something like that. I apologize on my behalf. I clearly wasn’t thinking. Sorry Rihanna if I ‘F’ up your birthday.”

Benvoy also told TMZ, “I lied. I don’t know why. I just did.”

Additionally, a rep for Rihanna tells Gossip Cop the photo is totally “FAKE.”
