Rihanna Fashion Show Gets Bad Reviews – Watch Video and Tell Us What You Think

Rihanna’s clothing collection for River Island debuted to less than rave reviews at London Fashion Week on Saturday.

In fact, some of the criticisms were downright brutal.

The singer’s nine-minute fashion show, which began an hour late, featured a number of her favorite skin-baring looks, including bandeaus and mesh crop-tops.

But a number of critics weren’t impressed by Rihanna’s creations.

The Daily Beast’s Tom Sykes called it a “porny” “horror show,” adding, “It was like Fright Night in Kmart.”

Rebecca Adams of the Huffington Post wrote, “Nipple-baring, crotch-flashing mesh outfits and bra tops aren’t exactly what a stylish gal wants to throw on for a casual night out.”

But not everyone hated Rihanna’s designs.

MTV Style’s Chrissy Mahlmeister said, “We’re totally on-board with her comfy girly-yet-grunge pieces,” and Elle UK’s Emma Sells said the singer didn’t disappoint.

    I would say she should just stick with singing, but I find her voice
    terribly annoying. Still, her singing is arguably better than her skills
    as a designer. Honestly, I find it atrocious how singers suddenly have
    to do everything from perfumes to acting, designing and writing. Stick
    to your area of expertise people!

    When you are just starting out in fashion why would you choose these songs to put with the fashion you are presenting. I would want music to compliment the fashion I am presenting, not music to detract from it, I would want to be taken seriously. I like Rihanna, but I think she did herself no favors with the choices she made in her music and I was not that impressed with her fashion line. Love your music Rihanna, that is still your strong suit, no pun intended.

    well ….. some of the pieces i liked , not all but there were a few that were decent .. all of the bra style s and midriff bearing mesh things are not for everyone but overall it was ok for her first foray into fashion . I’m not a big Rihanna fan but i like a couple of songs that’s all . And let’s not forget Beyonce fashion line Derion or whatever it’s not that great either , but some people do like it , so to each his/her own .. At least she ‘s trying to get something else going the music thing won’t last forever . i wish her well that is all … the only negative thing was the choice of music .?? not very cool . Hope she learns from this and do better next time .

    impressing people, why play such a stupid foul language song to promote your fashion line-smh -I know Rihanna is trying hard to show people she’s thug –bad girl or whatever
    but when you’re entering a business such as fashion(try showing a little class

    There is no fashion involved here. The models are as ugly as most of the clothes and have no idea how to present. The RAP in the back must be Chris, huh?? More yuck. The black dress with spagetti straps and the thigh slit was the ONLY # worthy but it is definitely NOT original, nor do I think any of it is. Singers who want attn have taken the Madonna Thing to heart i.e., Gaga (isn’t that sound one makes before vomiting?).
