Rihanna Victim of Sick Death Hoax

Rihanna is the latest victim of a death hoax. A photoshopped fake article, made to look like it was from a French news site, alleged the singer “sunk into an [alcohol-induced] coma before succumbing to a heart attack.” The phony “news” story spread rapidly on social media Monday night, leading many to believe Rihanna had died. It is 100% false. Rihanna is NOT dead.
Similarly false stories have previously “killed” Bon Jovi and others. In December, a fake story being spread on Twitter claimed the rock star was found “in a coma” at a hotel in New Jersey and taken to a hospital, where he supposedly “suffered cardiac arrest.” To prove he was alive and well, Bon Jovi even tweeted and posted to Facebook a picture of himself.
Last January, Rihanna was falsely said to have died in a “plane crash.” The rumor was apparently tied to misinterpreted tabloid reports. It’s time for these gross pranks to die out.
