Rihanna: “The More I Got Naked, The More Comfortable I Felt”

Truth rating: 10

(Women's Fitness)

Rihanna says she’s gotten over her body issues by um… exposing herself.

The singer, who’s walked out in public on a few occasions in revealing outfits, tells Britain’s Women’s Fitness magazine, “The more I got naked, the more comfortable I felt.”

She says, “I just had to face my fear. You always find something wrong, you always find something you’re uncomfortable with, and one thing turns into another and you get embarrassed and self-conscious about it.”

“After a while,” explains Rihanna, “it was like, ‘What’s the worst that can happen?’ I just started being a little more daring with it. It was just knowing my body… is what it is under clothes or outside of clothes.”

And while she’s acknowledges the bare look has helped her, she notes, “My way probably won’t work for most people.”

What do you think of Rihanna’s comments?

There is no royal road to anything. One thing at a time, all things in succession. That which grows fast, withers as rapidly. That which grows slowly, endures.

First, I’ll say people in general are too scared of sexuality and getting away from shame and awkwardness about our bodies is a good feat–but to say she did what she did to overcome personal issues is hard to buy–she’s a product and sex sells. More comfort might be a byproduct but I doubt it was a motivating factor.

I agree with you. I don’t believe her story about her becoming more sexier to overcome her personal issues either. She is a product of the music industry & you’re right sex does sell. That’s what in right now & she chose to show more skin to stay relevant.

Sex sells for sure, but she is not buyting her own album, we are, so she just giving us what we like. Usually women who are comfortable with their sexuality are rarely understood, becoause most people aren’t. They look like hoes, this whole fittness thing celebrities rarely do it for themslves, its for ther image it is what it is. With that being said Rihanna you lieing!!!

everything is sex i agree a bunch of whores too bad children look up to them

  • Nicety

How are they destroying our kids. The way we raise our kids has a greater influence than anything these celebs do,or say.Yes they want the lifestyle but if you teach them the right way with moral and ethics they learn that they can be successful without the drama. It also doesn’t help calling women for any matter whores #justalittlesomethingtothinkabout!

  • Nicety

I am so sick of people blaming these celebs. You had your children, you raise your children and your children are a product of their environment. The kids are in awe of the lifestyle. If you don’t agree with her actions, style or dress and your kids like her talk to your kids.Stop blaming these celebs they are not raising or flipping the bill for our kids. You teach your kids that they can have the lifestyle if they respect themselves and work hard.Teach them they can be successful but in a different way.If we allow our children to emulate or imitate these celebs it is nobodies fault but our own.The celebs aren’t responsible for anyone but themselves and we are responsible for the children we birth and raise. It is like the old saying if you don’t like the message change the station.

nicety i respect women who respect themselves you give respect to get respect

She is in no way forcing you to look, like or condone what she does. You are calling someones daughter, sister, etc. a whore. How is she disrespecting you.Is she forcing you to conform to her way of life. What a woman wears or doesn’t wear does not warrant them to be called out their name. You mentioned they are destroying our kids.If your daughter dressed provocative(you are not defined by your clothes by the way) and someone called her that, keep in mind they know nothing about her would that be ok with you? I don’t know if you have a daughter it is just an example. My point is you can’t degrade someones character based on how they are dressed. She says things to give that shock value. It may not be right but it is the business she is in.The mistake we make is thinking we know these people when all we really know is their personas. It is like they are two people. The entertainer who turns into that regular person when they get behind closed doors.I have met a few celebs and I can say that the ones I have met are totally different from the person you see on stage or TV.
