Rihanna “American Oxygen” — Singer Teases New Song For March Madness (VIDEO)
Rihanna is teasing her new song “American Oxygen.” The track off her upcoming album will be used throughout March Madness coverage on television later this month. Check out the promo below!
The official NCAA @MarchMadnessTV account on Twitter broke the news on Thursday night, tweeting, “Listen for @rihanna’s song ‘American Oxygen’ from her upcoming album during March Madness on TBS, CBS, TNT + truTV.” Included was a very patriotic, 30-second teaser for the annual basketball competition that mixed game clips with footage of Rihanna performing the new song.
For her part, Rihanna tweeted, “#MarchMadness #AmericanOxygen #R8 #NavyRDie,” and “#MarchMadness x #BadGal.” “Bad Gal,” of course, is one of the singer’s nicknames, and her fans are called the “Rihanna Navy.” Rihanna has been referring to her new record as “R8,” since it will be her eighth studio album, but it’s not clear yet if that’s the temporary or official title.
As Gossip Cop reported, “FourFiveSeconds,” featuring Kanye West and Paul McCartney, is the album’s first single. The trio performed the song at the Grammys last month. And just last week, another Rihanna song called “Towards The Sun” was released, tied to her upcoming animated film, Home, for which she curated the soundtrack. Check out the “American Oxygen” March Madness preview below, and tell us what you think.
