She totally deserves it. The woman was dying, and she slept with her husband, then wrote a book about it. I don’t know who isn’t going to find that heartless and distasteful

Amazing they were so upset and disappointed with Ms. Hunter that they decided to have her on and promote her book. Hunter is a clown but the woman of the view came across just as bad.

Why did they book her if they were going to trash her? I think she’s a total a$$, but not giving her any publicity for her book would have been the better thing to do.

The only one who has any control over who is booked for their show is Barbara Walters. Besides, if they have controversial guests, it means higher ratings for the show.

I think Barbara wanted to get that bit in about her not yelling at her or bullying her when she lost the interview to Oprah.

Only Barbara has a say so who is booked, none of the other ladies, She knew what to expect, she does not care, she want all the publicity she can get.to try and sell her trashy book. She says she want onlt to tell the truth,

The only way she knew anything about Elizabeth Edwards was from Elizabeth’s husband. Did you really think we were going to believe you. You are a very dumb and stupid woman, have you learned anything from the other home wreckers, very seldom people are on their side. You are what we call “slut”

I don’t know Ms. Hunter, but I know the type. First of all she has an excellent point about her not being the first woman to have an affair with a married man. She isn’t. But what I think strikes a lot of people as odd is the fact that this woman seems to have no shame about what she did. I think the reason for that is because she really has no shame. Then she trashes a woman who cannot say one word to defend herself. Now she claims she ‘loves’ John Edwards but I doubt it. She is in love with what she got out of scewing a philandering politician. What she can’t have anticipated was living the rest of her life being called names that would make the toughest people cry. And what’s even worse than that is that the baby, who is innocent in all of this, will suffer with her. Having stated all of this I sum everything up to these few words; this chick is a mega-bitch. And the reason for me saying that has nothing to do with her screwing John Edwards. Its her attitude about the whole thing. People do things that are wrong everyday, but they aren’t proud or boastful about it.

I’m not sad that they ate her for lunch but the irony of Whoopi Goldberg being morally outraged that Ms. Hunter was with a married man is incredible. Doesn’t anyone remember that Whoopi was with Ted Danson when he was married and then moved on the Frank Langella who was married . . . I heard her, on The View, last year stating that she doesn’t think that you can break up a marriage because a happy man wouldn’t stray. Ms. Goldberg is quite the hypocrite.

How wiil she explain to her daughter, her reason for being here. She’ll probably lie to her, and then someone will tell her the truth. At that point she will only have herself to blame if her child decides to hate her for being the person she is. This child’s existance is because her mother and father had an adultrous affair, how rich.

I doubt any of those men had a wife who was dying of cancer, NOR were they running for president. It’s true, many people have affairs, but not many people go to the lengths that Rielle has gone to, and then write a book about it! I am pretty sure that is a correct statement about a happy man who doesn’t stray. A man who isn’t being fulfilled sexually due to the fact his wife is dying of cancer is a different story. John had needs and Rielle slipped in. He kept her around for sex, then renewed his wedding vows and broke it off. When he realized the threat that Rielle posed, and remembered how easy she was, he went back, only this time someone was using fertility treatments. After Andrew was used as the scapegoat, Rielle realized this would need to go public and contacted the National Enquirer. With the media on their tails, John eventually had to tell Elizabeth, drop out of the campaign and nurture his sick wife. This drove Rielle batty. She continued to call the National Enquirer and continued adding to poor Elizabeth’s struggle. All the while John squeezed in occasional visits to Quinn, but kept two and a half hours between him and Rielle. With Cate in the picture and having a constant say in Rielle being kept far away, Rielle began her malicious book. Now she has finally revealed her wretched self to the world.

Actually, Ted Danson’s wife had a stroke while pregnant. Both Rielle Hunter and Whoopi Goldberg are equally repugnant. It’s not a contest.

Just remember it takes two to tango. John Edwards is just as much to blame maybe more. He was married had a wife with cancer and yet allowed this woman to approach him to tell him he’s hot then invite her to his hotel room. He’s dispicable. As someone said, hunter has no shame. I couldn’t believe when she said she’s not a mistress. As for the women of the view cannot stand most of them. A lot of them are hypocrite.

Well said. He’s already a cheater. Is it so hard for her to believe he is a liar too? Then the whole cover up…is that not a lie? I don’t know…I’m a firm believer that this whole thing is part of what did Elizabeth in. When you have cancer — and my brother died with cancer — it takes everything you have to fight. They say Elizabeth broke down and collapsed on the tarmac at the airport when he told her. I think that took whatever fight she had left out of her.

I realize that this whole “Rielle” thing is getting a lot of press. “The View” today, wasn’t she on 20/20 last week? This is too much air time for this woman. Please do not buy her book. Saying Barbara Walters yelled at her in an interview years ago? Really? You wanna tick off Barbara Walters? Rielle your intelligence is showing, and I’m tired of seeing it. DO NOT BUY HER BOOK, stop this terrible publicity. Rielle, you are not the first mistress, but, you may be the most tactless. I pray for the innocent kids put into the middle of bad decisions made by the adults around them.

I have never watch VIEW for a long time as i cannot stand most of them,they’re bunched of hypocrites womwen.To get this low life kind of woman in your show just to get a little bit of rate,is just beyond me to comprehend,and helping her to promote her BS of a book too that they know base on lies ,infidelity,sex that broke the heart of a very sick wife and died eventually alone in her sick bed brokenhearted .For them to give her a time of day to gain more fame and money is like they’re helping her trampled Elizabeth dignity and soul over and over again,no peace for this poor woman as long as there’s show that thrives and rely on low life famewhore people to gain publicity,shame on these women!

Hardly. Maybe she saved America from an Edwards Presidency and she saved us from ever having to think again of the Trial Lawyer Pretty Pony being in politics. She helped America a lot.

Ratings, ratings, ratings…

Actually, NOBODY is clean in this, not even Elizabeth Edwards. Hunter knew the issues from other people in the campaign. They all gabbed to her a lot while she was thought to still be doing a documentary on Edwards.

Let’s be honest. Elizabeth Edwards, for starters, let herself get very dumpy and unkempt in the last 10 years of their marriage. That’s something you shouldn’t do if you’re married to a narcissist like John Edwards.

Elizabeth Edwards was not popular with campaign staffers – at all. She made sure everyone knew she was Mrs. Candidate and swung her weight around. She would interfere, drag people off important tasking to wait on her hand and foot. She was a screamer. Didn’t hesitate to scream at her husband in front of people, scream at staff for minor infractions and expect absolute perfection and obedience. Volunteers quit because of her nasty attitude. And she was cheap with people. With all their money, she would have someone order in lunch and divide up the lunch tab, collecting the money herself. Anyone else would have just paid it as a thank you for hard work. A lot of stories – from volunteers and staff. This was not a nice woman.

None of that, of course, excuses John Edwards and Hunter. He should have divorced, but was too cowardly to do it because he was afraid of what people would say and how it would affect his campaigns. Hunter is just another sleazy opportunist. And… did I mention? She’s homely as a mud fence. Ever notice that really good looking, egotistical guys like to go for homely women? They don’t want any competition for the attention. Nauseating…

I think there is a very fine line here, it reminds me of the archaic stoning. The proper analogy here would be those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

I feel sorry for poor Elizabeth, suffering cancer and all this. Who writes a book running down a dead woman and the authoress had an affair with her husband to boot, what neck she has and then to say JE thought he had been walking on the moon. Sex does that to any man Rielle. Eliizabeth has children who will hear this stuff (and Rielle doesnt know if it is true she is just repeating what JE says is so), and lets face it some men who leave their wives can say horrendous untrue things.
I would like Rielle to put herself in Elizabeth’s position, I think how she acted would be completely different, or at least I would hope so. What if JE starts saying terrible things about Rielle, its quite possible he doesnt seem to be very dignified.
My question, how can you love a man who lies to his whole family for position.

Charlotte, for some reason you despise Whoopi who made very wise and educated statements and articulated a lot of what most of America…. and the world for that matter felt. If you noticed, when an author comes on the View to showcase their new book, everybody in the audience gets a complimentary copy. The View did not give it any credibility nor gave to the audience and really, the audience did not even want it. Rielle Hunter is repugnant. Whoopi Goldberg is a respectable actress and host.

Jennifer, did you see that stupid, goofy look with her eyes googly goggly when interviewed on The View? Neck all stretching out looking stuuuuupid! Tried to make it look like their break-up was mutual after she was dumped. Tacky. Yes, Edwards has enough exposure on this mess for a lifetime.

Why is anybody interviewing Rielle Hunter?

just maybe Mrs. Edwards acted the way she did because of what she herself put up with from the ass she was married to. Sometimes pple displace their anger to others and not where it really should be. Not to say she wasnt a very nice person. NO REASON for the sleaze to berate someone she didnt knkow on a personal level. But that is something we all do based on the info we are given! Hello. As having been the wife never the other woman i can understand Mrs side of any anger. but never would i treat others like….

I had a a hard time watching it today. I never watch The View. It was on when I turned on the TV in our master bedroom while I was getting ready this morning. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! This woman doesn’t have a clue! I pray she doesn’t sell one book, Homewrecker!! She has no remorse!!
