Celine Dion Shuts Down Blog Featuring “Ridiculous Pictures” of Her

Celine Dion‘s legal team has shut down “Ridiculous Pictures of Celine Dion,” a Tumblr blog that featured the superstar singer making a variety of facial expressions.

The site’s administrator Nick Angiolillo posted, “Celine Dion found our blog, and she didn’t like it. we just got a letter from celine’s lawyers that the blog has to be shut down.”

“[T]hough this blog is well within the realm of ‘fair use,’ i don’t have the money or time to get a lawyer to respond. the dream is over.”

A Dion fan, Angiolillo tweeted, “hmmm getting sorta upset reading all the anti-celine comments [about the site shutting down]. i still love celine… just not her lawyers/PR team.”

While the Dion blog dream is dead, Angiolillo still runs “Star Jones In Hats,” which offers exactly what you’d expect.

    I’m glad to read that the site owner recognizes that this was not the fault of Celine. It’s very likely that she was not aware of this site. Had she been aware, I am sure no action would’ve been taken. Celine has a very good sense of humor, and does not mind people poking fun at her. I believe the lawyer took action without her permission.

    I know alot of celebrities like to control their image and apparently have their legal teams raking over internet sites and tabloids, but I don’t see what was so bad about this blog. It would be different if there were nude or other obscene photos, but just silly ones just does not seem threatening to anyone. Most celebrities have taken bad photos or been photographed mid-blink. Just so long as it was not hurting anyone, don’t see the issue. Oh well, goes to show that power and money speaks, no matter what the circumstance.

    Who wants photos of themselves making a variety of faces to show up on a blog somewhere? This isn’t fair. Nick, if you don’t have “real” photos of someone, leave it alone. You say “the dream is over”……WTF kind of a dream is that???

    I am a HUGE Celine Dion fan and I love her to death she is my idol. I am upset that someone would do something like that just to gain public attention. SHEESH Celine is a international sensation who is loved around the world… I totally understand why she would want it shut down.

    God what a bitch. Way to lack a sense of humor. =/ The owner of the blog wasn’t doing anything to gain public attention. It was just a fun little blog, it wasn’t hurting anyone. Celine basically gave it attention by having it shut down.
