Ricky Gervais is reportedly in talks to star in a sequel to The Muppets.

The actor and comedian is negotiating to be the follow-up movie’s human lead, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

His role would reportedly be comparable in stature to the part played by Jason Segel in the 2011 movie, which also starred Amy Adams and Chris Cooper.

The Muppets sequel script is being kept under wraps, and Gervais’ potential character has not been identified.

It’s believed that the film will be centered in Europe this time around, with “Modern Family” star Ty Burrell already attached.
