Richard Dawson of Family Feud Fame Dies

Richard Dawson has died.

He was known best for hosting “Family Feud” and starring in “Hogan’s Heroes.”

His son Gary posted the following statement on Facebook: “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my father passed away this evening from complications due to esophageal cancer. He was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad, and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always remembered.”

Dawson also appeared in several films, including The Running Man, and on such TV shows as “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “Match Game.”

He was 79.
