Reports: Taylor Lautner to be “Stretch Armstrong” in 3D

Universal Pictures has tapped Taylor Lautner to star as Stretch Armstrong in a major film franchise based on the Hasbro toy, according to reports.

Scheduled for a 2012 release, the 3D franchise will feature an Armstrong with superhero powers.

“He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power,” says Donna Langley, studio co-chair.

Lautner is already lined up for the Max Steel franchise and, of course, the eventual conclusion to The Twilight Saga.
