“Kathy Griffin Banned From CNN,” read a headline on PopEater, which went on to claim that “Following her very controversial F-bomb-dropping New Year’s Eve hosting gig, CNN executives have decided Kathy Griffin will NOT be getting a 2011 invite.”
Really?
The site even quoted a so-called CNN “insider” as saying, “She was a total embarrassment to the network that calls themselves ‘The Most Trusted Name in News.’ Even Anderson (Cooper, her co-host) thinks it’s time to say goodbye to Kathy.”
It’s a reasonable guess, given that Griffin has made using the F-word on-air a New Year’s tradition; however, Gossip Cop has learned that NO decision has been made about what’s going to happen 359 days from today. In fact, the network doesn’t decide who’s doing New Year’s Eve until November.
As for Griffin already being “banned,” a rep for the Emmy-winning comedienne tells Gossip Cop, “This isn’t true.”

I just have to say this, if you are watching Kathy Griffin LIVE on NEW YEARS EVE, you 1) Are old enough to be up & awake at midnight, and 2) Should DAMN WELL EXPECT to hear a few cuss words, even the dreaded “F-bomb”. Come on people, you can’t really be surprised that she did this can you? And, for the record, I LOVE ME SOME KATHY! I think she’s friggin hilarious! But, like Andrew Dice Clay, don’t watch/listen if you are even remotely easily offended!
Kathy has said worse then the F word in previous New Years Eve’s with Anderson and they didn’t ban her then so I found it hard to believe they would ban her over that. Thanks for clearing that up GC. I love Anderson and Kathy together and watch them every NYE.
