Report that Johnny Depp offered Nicolas Cage money is not worth a dime

“Johnny Depp Sails to Rescue of Pal Nic Cage,” reads the headline of a National Enquirer story.
The article goes on to say that when Depp learned of Nicolas Cage’s financial troubles, he “offered to give him ‘whatever he needs’ to take care of his cash-flow woes,” says a “friend” of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star.
The alleged “friend” similarly claims, “Johnny called Nic and basically told him, ‘Look, don’t worry. I’ll help you. You just let me know, all right?’”
Cage, the tab notes, refused the offer.
So why would Depp even do this?
The supermarket rag says that when Depp was a struggling musician it was Cage who convinced him to become an actor. “Johnny has always felt he owes a great debt to Nic, and now he’s ready to repay it,” says the so-called “source.”
What a touching story. What a sign of friendship. What a load of garbage.
Yes, the two have remained friends, but Cage’s rep told Gossip Cop that the Enquirer’s story is “not true.”
